You need to find out what a tool is for before saying it is bad, this is to make an angle grinder into a very simple chop saw for metal.

wish something similar to turn a dremmel style tool into a chop saw

Wrong tool for the job ... this tool was designed to cut off metal stock and not wood working. A simple miter saw would do what you want, much easier for the cost of this tool and your makita saw. Cheers

No. Not out of the box. You need to adjust both the grinder and back plate carefully until both are square. Tedious.

Its very good for cutting metal box bars and round pipes. What this guy needs is sliding mitre saw to cut wood.
