Wolf Stove: Downdraft Exhaust System.

Back when I made the first videos on the house, I hadn't made any video on the Wolf stove's exhaust system. Between then and now, there have been some updates to it, and they have made a great improvement.
I will be measuring the airflow for it as well. I don't have any measurements for how it was beforehand, but obviously the readings will be lower than what you see here.

Thank you for this video. Very useful, from a prospective buyer's point-of-view. Great presentation of the downdraft system.

Glad you liked it! It does work rather well for a downdraft system. The new fan made a world of a difference.

Hi there, just saw you video about this kitchen vent, we have a very much similar vent. About 2 days ago my one the up/down system is not working now, when I push it, nothing happens, the fan switches for 3 speeds are fine. Do you have any idea or advice for me about this problem? Thanks!

Hmm, could the motor for it possibly be bad?

Slightly excessive setup, but it does do the job for sure.

Nice presentation of all that. Glad the anemometer came in handy for the video! Don't forget to check your attic vent fan in the cabana with the windows open, I think it'll be hotter in a couple days so it'll probably go on. Seems that the new fan motor is way way more powerful than the old one, but also seems to be a sort of "hack job". The High+ didn't seem to have any effect, and I couldn't really hear any difference with the sound on video either. So it's almost like they found some other fan that would work and plumbed that in, even though perhaps it wasn't made for the system. But of course it works much better all around, so it's not really a big deal.

Yeah, I always felt that the plus for the High was just a gimmick anyway. The new one definitely doesn’t even need it!

Do a startup/shutdown of the stove exhaust while in the basement.

What CFM was the original in-line fan box, and what cfm did you change it to?

Believe it or not, it is actually very quiet, quieter than the smaller one that used to be there!

Oh right :P since its louder because of the airflow, so it would not be as loud near the fan box eve :P

I would think that, that style exhaust would affect high or low flame movement. What about fitting a giant oversized pot or pan on the back burners?

I had mentioned about the burners. Actually, putting an oversized pot on the back wouldn’t work well, as the largest burner is on the front left, where said pot would have the least restrictions. Most of the time, the exhaust isn’t used anyway.

Not necessarily; the smaller burner is especially handy if you need to leave something simmering for a while. On my stove, the smallest burner is for that. It works great. What I do is get the pot simmering on the regular burner, then turn on the back burner full and put the pot there. Then I just back the heat down to where it stays simmering.

I forget if I ever showed it to you, but these burners have a sim function. We have used it before on the large one for new pasta sauce. It works great!
