I became a TON fan in 1996, freshman year high school. I kind of hid it though.. haha My friends only all listened to only Thrash, like myself. One day I came out of the metal closet, and said. I have to tell you all something. I love Type O Negative. Everyone was silent except one dude. Sticks his hand out to shake, and said I thought i was alone. Haha. It's amazing how that was huge when your 15. Love Type O, got me through some bad times, and always make Fall more exciting.

Glad you all found them, there are horribly underrated. I miss seeing them and hearing new music I was very fortunate to be able to be a part of the scene back then and get to meet the people that made amazing music. The 90’s were fun but Type O was so unique and different it was very richly layered and complex music at times with beautiful haunting lyrics. Really miss them it’s really cool younger people are discovering them.

Well said my TON brethren. Never got to see them live. There's Pete's bottle of wine next to his water bottle. I couldn't imagine being up there doing what he's doing. I'd need a bottle of Jameson and at least 2 5% alc. hard lemonades to wash it down, 2 30mg addies 5 hours before the show and 1 50mg ativan. I just visited his grave about a month ago in Farmingdale, NY/St. Charles Cemetery. I'll put up the video and you all can check it out. It's only 45 minutes away from where I live. PS 1 20mg add, 1 can 8% alc. Smirnoff ice and a lot of 'moke.

I saw a Type O Negative shirt in this all 60s and early 70s store in Reno and I always went in and I kept seeing it. It was like 140$ or some shit. It’s from they’re first tour or some shit. Idk fucking lame to max the price. But I finally listened to Black No.1 then Christian Woman. I watched the videos. I recently gave the 90s a chance. I had always been all 80s goth and anarchy punk with some New/Dark wave and psychedelic kinda kid. I started with Marilyn Manson and I shaved my brows off haha. Now they’re back. I always thought Type O was some shit like Creed or some trash. But I fell in love. Wolf Moon or Love you to Death I listen to everyday.

On the first chorus when Peter plugs his ear because his monitor wasn't loud enough and he was trying to hit that "hey wolf moon" real smooth like, there were bass note changes that he played with one hand, likely using a strong hammer-on technique with his fretting hand to make up for the lack of a pick stroke. Eric Knapp Because it takes more than just musical talent. These guys grew up in Brooklyn during the middle of the crack epidemic in the 80's and 90's. Back in those days Brooklyn was synonymous with darkness, criminals and the underworld. It took a special kind of background and life to be able to have that emulation in their sound and image. New York during those days was the true Gotham, the playground of the dark and gothic, the eccentric and weird. It isn't often that you can truly call a band so unique huh? haha!

Last night I dreamt of Peter.. I dreamt I was at a multi venue . There's were all theses different bands playing. I was trying to get to type o negative. To do so I had to bypass mediocre bands. I had to go through a series of long dark tunnels. I kept stopping and would feel the walls to hear where they were. I finally got to them. Pete was sitting down in a chair. When I approached him, he said " Celecia what are you going to try to sell me?" I replied " Nothing I just want to know you. " He said " Anybody can know me.. Listen to my music" . I woke up..

I had a dream on 9/18/2018 that I met Pete and the band in some dive bar in the middle of nowhere, felt like PA or NY. I was just hanging out with Pete like we'd been friends for awhile, though I was aware that he died. He looked kinda rough and older like he did towards the end. He looks at my phone and says, "Take a photo of me and post it." As if to mean, "yea I know I'm dead, and when you post it, everyone's gonna freak out." But for some reason I couldn't get my phone to work. So later he wanders off and I ask where he went and I think it was Kenny says, "yea that's Pete, he doesn't like to hang around too long, he starts drinking too much and gets too wild." Could he be reaching out to his fans from beyond the grave? I'd like to think so.

Glad you all found them, there are horribly underrated. I miss seeing them and hearing new music I was very fortunate to be able to be a part of the scene back then and get to meet the people that made amazing music.

It isn't often that you can truly call a band so unique huh? haha!

For all of us who weren't there due to age or whatever reason. We are all there now living this concert together and talking amongst other fans from all over the world. For those that did see them live tell us about your story and experience. We are all in August 22, 1999 right now, enjoy it.
I have been to this concert. I was 13 and went there with my best girlfriend and her older friends! This was my very first rock concert, my first open air at such a big festival. I really didn't know what it really meant. Just thought ok, it's cool to go . I wasn't just overwhelemed, but Peter Steele really catched me with this show ... I've just listened Punk Rock before ... And exactly 'Wolf Moon' made me kinda hypnotized by Peters voice and the fucking great sound of the guitar and Keyboard ... This concert really changed my perspective in music to a better way!! And it changed my life ;) Really! But luckyly I once had the chance to shake his hand. I will never forget that! His death is a big loss ... RIP
