I hooked up with a girl for a few months in Atlanta. She said she went to burning man or one of those other festivals similar to it. Said she brought plenty of food, alcohol, water, etc. for her and her friends for more than just a couple of days. Said people asked for stuff, she was nice enough to give away stuff to people, and said they never even said thank you or were grateful for getting free shit. Said she ran out of stuff in the first day. This is why communes don't work with free loaders, everyone has to put in work. This is why these types of people will always die off in a world-ending situation.

There is historical records of colonies on North America which tried communal property, didn't end well, the Israel "Kibutz* worked a little better for a short while, no many of them nowdays though...aaand though the Kibutz have some sort of communal property all of it have enough guns to make a redneck jealous.

I know how she feels. My GF sister, who’s never had a job, moved in with her and always has to take along. Zero consideration how much something costs and never said thank you. We went out to eat and she orders the $50. Steak. I say congratulations, you got a job. Then her sister is mad at me for being “the jerk” and making her feel bad.

2:13 The one problem I have with this movie is how the narration is used to explain how the characters are feeling all of the time. A little bit of this in certain places is okay when it's just the narrators feelings being given a little more depth, they did this just right in the first movie. However there are two moments in Double Tap where (in my opinion) they go too far, this is the first one. They could have just kept that little smile, no narration, and then skipped to Tallahassee deciding to leave. Maybe a short, heartfelt scene with him and Columbus, where they could put the 'call of the buffalo' line. That would have perfectly shown what was happening. The second moment was the ending narration, where Columbus explains the movie's main them, home. I thought that the theme of the movie was shown of perfectly through the character arcs. I'm not sure why this is where I draw the line, but this really bothered me when I first watched the movie. Sorry, this turned into more of a rant then I intended.

But in a woprld where a threat can lurk around every corner, a threat that can't be reasoned with, disposing of all weaponry is criminally negligent. Lock them up, bury them, have them somewhere in reach, but don't just refuse having one when you could be attacked at any moment. Just to be clear, that doesn't apply to out actual society, no person actually needs a weapon when we have law enforcement.
