I could see in another world the wnba getting a LaDishwasher type STAR 🌟 player to “resurrect” the league with an actually great bball player. Something like Kobe’s daughter, (after having being mentored by him for years), comes into the league and destroys records, wins awards, titles, etc, causing an actual interest in wnba. Maybe her dad would even get hired to coach too, giving more star power to the league ticket sales etc. Then the wnba having a dominant female star player, who is capable of scoring on high school boys teams would add a new question to the women vs boys Bball talk etc? Who knows..

FR I WAS LAUGHING LIKE CRAZY WHEN I HEARD THAT

Reminds me when my son was 14 and racing road bicycles. This was the year before he got selected for the US junior national team. The owner of the local team he was with had to disband the team, and the manager suggested another team for him. I went to the meeting and the team coach who never saw my son race, told me that his 55 yo wife is better than any 14yo boy and he wanted him to ride with his wife who would assess him. I told him that was a joke. He argued. I told him to watch him in an upcoming multi day stage race. The first stage was a time trial, which he won... and would have placed 2nd in the women pros. I never heard from that guy again. He also won the US mountain bike championship that year. The 25-29-year-old women were supposed to start 2 minutes ahead. Some of the parents approached the officials because they felt that a larger time gap was needed. The officials agreed on 8.5 minutes. I ran to a vantage point where a few women came through and then our son came through who quickly passed the 1st place woman. He won nationals. It would have been embarrassing to even let the 14yo boys race with the women. Many of these boys would have destroyed them.
