I actually lived like this when I was an alcoholic except it was Kalypso rum. I was drinking around 20-25 shots a day and not eating. Before the rum it was 25-30 beers a day. My resting heart rate was anywhere between 110-125+ with my blood pressure around 165-200/135-150. I stopped drinking on March 8th, 2023 and had a seizure within 2 hours. I’ll be 8 months sober this week. I’m now playing hockey again after a 15 year hiatus after leaving high school in 2008. I’m officially on 9 teams atm and 1 of those is a minor pro team here in Colorado. My resting heart rate is now 48-56 and my blood pressure is normal at 117-135/75-90 ( normal for me and to the new AHA findings ). I was literally dying and I feel alive again.

I'm not trying to be a nitpicky asshole, just educational since many don't know the distinction: Mr. Lahey drinks Canadian Rye, which is a type of whisky rather than whiskey. Whiskey only refers to Irish whiskey, American Rye (which isn't real Rye since it's made differently), Tennessee whiskey, and Bourbon.
