At the 2022 Five Clubs meeting, the Gilbern Owners Club celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the first Gilbern to compete at Wiscombe Park. And it was an impressive display of Gilbern’s, both competing on the hill, and on display in the paddock in front of Wiscombe House.
On Saturday, celebrations to got off to a great start with the Jones brothers - Mark and Christopher - fighting hard in their highly modified Gilbern’s to try and set a new Gilbern hill record. Mark in his Gilbern Genie and Christopher in his Gilbern Invader Mk3, traded times through the three runs - Mark on his third run, clinching a new Hill Record, with a 46.28s run.
On Sunday, the car that started it all was on display - the 1962 Gilbern GT Supercharged - 533 UPH - purchased by Ray Eve and entered into the Aston Martin Owners Club meeting of the 7th April 1962 when it was only a few weeks old.
