Damn I absolutely love the sound design of this game. So sad how the engine sounds in Omega are all so similar and so much less powerful.

Oh yeah I noticed that. The sound design here in 2048 sounds fuller but sounds a bit unnatural and repetitive, and the sound design in omega collection sounds more natural but less powerful. So if they would make another wipeout game, the best way they could improve their sound design is to make it sound more powerful, dynamic and natural and make it less repetitive.

Well. You can play all Wipeout games on PC right now. Except for the Omega Collection. RPCS3 for Wipeout HD works really well! And Vita3K for Wipeout 2048 is now playable, at 60 fps even! With only minor issues.

Wipeout isn't technically dead though. As long as we can emulate it, it will never really die.

BallisticNG is basically a modern port of the first 3 games, cheap on steam. moddable, no frame limit, still updated, and the devs are about to release new ships along with an updated physics model for the 2048 inspired version

I adore how much the ships roared in 2048, they sound so much quieter in omega collection, kinda feels like it takes the hype and intensity away even if it's more realistic. A+ races with 2048s sound design make for some crazy adrenaline fueled action.

I miss the boost pad sound in Omega. All the teams had their own sounds, in Omega they are all the same D:

U only had to use the double tap air brakes, they're so helpful in closed in u shaped curves

Sadly that they took down multiplayer feature :/ This game was with me since 2012

They may be bringing it back. PSONE team is currently working on Wipeout HD, and is considering working on Vita titles in future. It's fan-made, and runs awesome for other titles! For now, though, you can play 2048 in Omega Collection.

2048’s my 2nd favorite game in the series (would be number 1 if it had Racebox - no idea why that was never included.) I love the setting and ESPECIALLY the ship sounds. They sound like futuristic cars and I love it

Developers were making better games 15 years ago, than they are now. I'm tempted to get this for Vita3K on the Steam Deck. It's a pity that the Vita died, because it was such a good system for the time. I actually owned two or three Vita's in the course of their lifetime.

good skills but here is a better tip you should not forgot doing barrel roll will give you turbo how to do it? push stick or press pad left right left or right left right you do it in air doing pitch will work when there is a small gap it helps you to try barrel roll

Was a blast to play on the VITA. Races are challenging but fun. Amazing sound design and soundtrack, beautiful graphics, and high octane racing.

Wipeout is awesome, its a lot more technical than F-Zero in my experience. If you have a PS4 you should be able to find the Omega Collection for cheap.

If you're looking for more like Wipeout, look for Redout and Redout 2.

This is fun somewhat but bloodclawt hard yow no wonder. I stopped playing even unit 13

so its basically F zero GX but themed different

Kinda. From what I've heard, F-Zero has a ridiculously steep learning curve while WipEout kind of eases you in better. Also WipEout has better tracks imo
