VTKC that’s a good idea, but I don’t think Sony would approve of his opinion on the pilot assist. But other than that, I think it should have been. I’m glad I watched this video before I played the game!

Welcome back hellfire
I'll start out by saying that I've never even played a Wipeout game before, barring two tracks of _Wipeout 2097_ that came on a PS1 demo disk. So the fact that I just finished watching this after also watching your earlier videos _WipEout - The Teams_ and _WipEout - Through the Ages - The Weapons_ (and found all three absolutely fascinating) is testament to just how well put-together and entertaining you've managed to make these. A nice mix of professionalism and slightly more informal quips, I'm stunned at how informative this is regarding a game series that I've basically never even played. Serious kudos.

That's the hardest one of the lot. You absolutely must make sure you hit the skill cut I show in the Autopilot section on every lap, and if you can save an autopilot for that section too it'll make it even easier

You forgot about Mach 1.1 to Mach X (or the highest as it is for Mach speed in the WipEout 2048 mode). Although understandable, since this speed class is only available in Zone mode *(if you're 'suicidal' enough to reach Zones 100+ to 200+).*
Wipeout 2048: THE LAST EVER MASTERPIECE IN THE ENTIRE WIPEOUT SERIES.
Wow, this is an absolutely excellent tutorial. It's sad that Wipeout has been around for decades, yet Sony has not incorporated any tutorial of this caliber in the games proper. I guess it takes a legend to right those wrongs😊
This video should be included in the game.
Just picked up the omega collection and this video helped a lot. Didn’t realize you could tilt the nose. Thanks again

I'm an artist who worked with Zico on this game at Studio Liverpool. I was rubbish at playing it but this was the easiest to play for me.

ecchieatsyou I play he and he fury on my vita. But I’m planning to get a ps4 soon. I am honestly intimidated by beat Zico because every time I play on anulpha pass, I can pull off that tricky barrel roll on the skill cut, nor the triple barrel roll, so yeah.
Wow. This is probably the best guide out there for this game
>Make sure you've left yourself enough room for barrell roll to complete. This is doubly important with AG Systems prototype Heh.
@greatwavefan397

Haha, doubly. Because of the double barrel roll.
2048 looks amazing on a big screen. We can only hope if the day comes and a new Wipeout dawns, you will return. Round of applause to both Clever Beans, and of course, Studio Liverpool. Like Split/Second dev Black Rock Studio, may your legacy rest in peace.
I really appreciate how much effort you put into this video. Your way of speaking sounds professional and you're very easy to follow. I also really appreciated all the footage where you demonstrated the things you were talking about. A very high quality and i-depth tutorial that makes me feel like getting this game!
Professional and informative yet succinct. This is a fantastic guide. Thank you!
Racing at mach x in zone is like being in a trance. I was so surprised when I got to zone 140 on sol. Somehow came 7th globally
wipeout has THE best deep techno soundtracks hands down
This is one of the best video game tutorials I’ve ever seen! Great job 👍
the legend speaks and now he's back.

Awesome video! I knew most of it but I had a lot of fun watching anyway, it's very well-made!
I recently got back into playing with my vita because I jailbroken it, I lost my gamecard for wipeout 2048, and now that it's jailbroken I've been able to install and play it again. Watching this gave me a ton of refresh into many things, most of which I recall, but good to hear to make sure I remembered correctly. I'm glad I can do a+ class so easily on Sol, with pirhana speed nonetheless! (13.45 if you're wondering what my best time was, ironically done with ag systems prototype, because of its double barrel rolls) It has been so much fun getting back into it, and seeing all the elite passes I have had on the entire campaign! Also, hello future me! -me Dec 9th 2023
I love the look of WipEout 2048. It's like normal WipEout meets the modern racing scene of formula and such. And of course that's intentional, given how it is the earliest WipEout tournament chronologically.

2048 was a very bold decision in art direction, but really interesting at the same time, it was the most realistic the games had ever looked, however this did dampen some of the series staple themes if you asked me, it's still a great looking game, but I actually prefer the Vita version over the Omega collection offering.
This is probably the most "professional" and well presented video game tutorial I've ever seen. Very detailed too.
This is _the_ tutorial I have been missing in the actual game. Thank you for your efforts.
holy shit the amount of qualiy gone into this is amazing. beuatiful
What a fantastic and insightful video. I was a big fan of wipeout on the ps1, It's been a while so picking up on the tips in the video has been a huge help!
I waited for this video for so much time, even if I have no issues with the game, it's just a pleasure to enjoy the quality of these tutorials, from the perfectly explained hits, to the great video editing. Thanks :D
Did I just watch a 45 minute video on a game I just discovered and have not played yet just because it reminds me of Quantum Redshift, which I played as a child? Yes. And I will gladly do it again. Well done. I could listen to you talk about Wipeout all day.
Every time a new Wipeout is released I come back to your videos for a refresher. This time it was for the VR update. Thanks for making these, and please do more!
Amazing information, great narration. This is really professional and useful, even for the more "seasoned" players.
This WipeOut was the primary reason to buy the Vita. Finally it's in the 4 as well! One of the best ones in the collection. My favorites are Pure and 2048.

Thank you so much for these guides. They have great presentation. I always wanted to get into Wipeout but couldn't force myself into it. Some things are kinda cryptic and different from other racing games. However this guide helped me appreciate the series even more.
I was looking for awhile to see how to do a Barrel-Roll, Thanks Brotha!
OMG I learned how to play optimally all Wipeout HD tracks thanks to your tutorials. Feels good to have you back!
I watched thia through to the end just because of how professional and calming the whole presentation is. Very nice work
watched all your previous vids once the collection dropped your knowledge and love for the game is unbelievable glad you're back
Dude, your videos are so well made and have a high amount of professional information in them. Best Wipeout vids on YT!
This is the most professional, thorough and useful video game tutorial I’ve ever seen! Thank you! Wipeout Omega Collection is fun but I’ve bounced off the game several times because the learning curve is so steep. This video helps tremendously. Sony should be paying you for this!
Feels so good having you back!
Even though I got the 2048 Platinum and started Omega yesterday, I still enjoy this video. Hellfire, you earned a new sub.
Nice I just started watching your videos for the history behind the teams and thought it was a shame that you weren't doing videos anymore. Nice to see you back on the horse!
This tutorial video was absolutely incredible. I've been playing this game for almost a year and have picked up over a time a fraction of the things you laid out in detail here. I'm so excited to get home and play more now that I know exactly how everything is laid out. Thank you!

I watched this and started following guidelines and now made significant progress although I was considering taking game back to the store before I saw this video. Splendid!
Brilliant video. Thanks for all the tips. The boost start has been alluding me.
Amazing video Charlie, this will be perfect for anyone new to the games! I learnt a thing or two as well.
Peak quality tutorial. I haven't played it in years but it does tell me i was a scrub when i ran
I've never played WipeOut, but I always loved it's style and music, and you have the best videos on the series. Welcome back.
What an incredible tutorial. I don't even play this game, i just love listening to the detail you go into.
I FINALLY bought Wipeout Omega Collection today so I can take off some steam after losing my mom and having a rough Christmas. Needed this.
Just got this game with my PSVR and thank you so much! I didn't really get how to properly drive the craft and there's not a tutorial in the actual game.
Welcome back and thanks a lot for making this video, it's been very useful.
Fantastic guide, thanks so much! I've just picked up a PS4 specifically because I wanted to play Wipeout again and I'm about to jump in. There's never been a better racing game. You've really helped :]
YAY!!!!! YOURE BACK!!!!! Amazing WipEout video but i shouldn't be surprised, you make the best wipEout videos ever. Hope you make more videos soon, i would love to see you play the Omega Collection.

I've only just finished the 2048 campaign after having the game for almost a year. Some of these tips and tricks I didn't even know about! Thank you!
Huh, I was just watching your videos again just yesterday too. Welcome back!
I knew you will come back after the release of omega colection :). Welcome back our master!
Well, just bought this game and watching trough this in two times. So much (good) info! Thank you. I haven't checked out the rest of your channel, but if it's as good and helpfull like this, consider me subscribed!!
Just like the PS3 HD tutorial video this is brilliant and a must watch for anyone who plays the game. Great to see you making content again, Hellfire.
Oh man, I remember my childhood of slamming into the sides of the map in total confusion. Mastering WipOut makes you feel like a god.
Welcome back, Hellfire! Good to see a new video and yes. A+ Challenges are brutal indeed. I felt like I was getting bullied at the beginning, just trying to move up from last place resulted mostly in getting hit by a stray missile. I even got rammed off the track or onto the splitters on some track sections, effectively bringing me to a halt.
The soundtracks of the first 3 wipeouts are engraved in my brain
Amazing video, probably the best tutorial I've ever seen on KZread!!! :O
THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU MADE SO MANY PEOPLE HAPPY!!!
YES! Glad you're back and what a quality video production!
Really cool to see a new video from you.
I just found my new favourite game and its free
Love wipeout been a player sonce ps1. Back in the good auld days when touching the sides at all was a No No!. Great video, well executed and even as a highly skilled player i watched the whole video and enjoyed every second. Subbed. Keep up the good work!
Finally! You're active, thanks for the videos!
Easily the best Wipeout content creator out there. Hope to see more from you in the future.
This is an outstanding tutorial. Well done, thanks.
Great... Great video bro! I just downloaded the game. Can't wait! Been about 24 years since I played any Wipeout. The 1st one.
a excellent video, not just in content but also production
Glad to see your back! And hopefully this series as well :)
This helped me get into wipeout dude thank you so much, my favorite racer honestly
I absolutely love your channel! Insanely well done video!
wooo starting out the video with a kraftwerk track!
I highly recommend this tutorial for anyone! Great Tutorial Hellfire! This actually makes me want to pick up the Omega Collection for PS4! I already owned 2048 on Vita but the PS4 version looks so amazing! :D
As somebody who hasn't had a chance to play since the '95 release, thanks for the refresher!
Love your videos man, so happy you made this one!
REALLY well done tutorial! Even for advanced tips. Great job
This tutorial video is so freaking good on so many levels, it should've come with the game. Thanks Hellfire! I'm so glad you can reconfigure the controls. I've never liked being forced to use my right thumb to control three separate buttons for thrust, firing weapons and absorbing weapons. I've found that by assigning firing weapons to the L3 button on the left thumb stick, it really helps simplify the whole control scheme while making it more efficient. Your right thumb is now free to sit exactly where it wants to naturally; resting on a left angle and sitting comfortably on both the the thrust button and the weapons absorb button. Firing my weapons with the L3 thumb stick feels perfect because now I'm steering, aiming and firing with only one button instead of two. This allows me to far more quickly and accurately aim and fire at just the right time. And my right thumb is now always stationary and never again has to make that awkward "smearing" move to the right to hit the circle button and fire weapons while also having to keep the thrust button pressed. In combat races, this simple one button configuration change did wonders for my weapon accuracy and overall race results. If you're someone new to the game or looking to improve your combat race results, I highly recommend giving this a try and hope it helps you as much as it helped me.
WELCOME BACK!!!
Welcome back Hellfire, your wipeout team lore / weapons in the series stuff is really intresting. I jumped into the series through Fusion's demo and Wipeout 3 Normal Edition, then my collection grew with 2097, 3 Special Edition, HD / Fury PS3 and then Omega Collection. Getting into 2048 stuff seems difficult due of me never playing Vita version sadly.
Jesus dude, I remember playing HD and Fury with you when I was active on the WipEout fansite forum back in like 2010-2011. Now you're making huge tutorials! Haha, nice my man!
Excellent video man!! Really quality.
Good to see you back!

Thanks for the great tutorial! Specifically the racing line and use of sideshifting, but loved the thorough breakdown of each racecraft. It's a pity we don't have cockpit view, but it wouldn't be a make or break for me, had I a PS4. Presently I'm scratching my WipEout itch with RedOut, but I realllly want 2048 thanks to your videos!

Top quality video, really well executed.
Nice to see another vid from you
Wish this was on Steam. I only played about 5 mins of a Wipeout on PC ages ago but I played F-Zero GX to bits. Splendid video!
