How crazy we people are? Going to war for these few tiny islands? It is called the South China Sea because it belongs to China.The Chinese have been engaged economically in the South China Sea since the Han Dynasty more than two thousand years ago. Not only did Chinese fishermen go there to catch fish, but people also took cattle in boats to the islands and brought them home for sale the next year. In the history of thousands of years, the Chinese people have been working and living here, and even in that era when information was scarce and technology was backward, the Chinese people still wrote a geographical book like Geng Lu Book with their rich experience. The South China sea has been part of China's territory since 789 AD. In the following thousand years, although the names of the islands of theSounth China sea have changed a lot, they have always been under China's control. In 1935 the Chinese government published the Map of the South China Sea Islands, which defined the boundaries of the South China Sea without any objection from Vietnam and the Philippines, who had not even established their country! After World War II, in accordance with the principles set forth in the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation, the Chinese government officially resumed sovereignty over Nanhai Zhudao, and Vietnam and the Philippines did not raise any objections. In the 1970s, when it was discovered that the South China Sea had large amounts of oil, the governments of Vietnam and the Philippines took action and illegally occupied a large number of islands in the South China Sea when China's military force could not cover the whole area. Here I will explain to you the difference between Mongolia and the South China Sea in my view. I noticed you mentioned the Mongol emperor Kublai Khan, you know Kublai Khan was also one of the emperors of ancient China. Yes, the emperor of China, there has been a lot of debate on the Chinese Internet about whether the Yuan Dynasty is Chinese history or not, but the result is definitely yes. You also may know that in 1911, with the support of Tsarist Russia, the Karkha Mongols took advantage of the turmoil in China to declare their independence. In 1945, the KMT government agreed to a Mongolian referendum to secure Chinese sovereignty over Xinjiang and Northeast China and to secure a promise that the Soviet Union would not help the Communists during the second KMT Civil War. In 1946, the KMT government recognized Outer Mongolia's independence. After the founding of New China, under the pressure of the Soviet Union and in order to reclaim the privileges of the Soviet Union in the Northeast, they had to recognize the independence of Mongolia. It can be seen from the above that the whole territory of Mongolia was actually under the control of the Chinese government since China was invaded by the West in modern times, not to mention that most of the tribes of Mongolia still live in what is now China. So even after Mongolia became independent, China still had a claim to Yuan history, although today it needs to be shared with the Mongols. After all, if the Yuan Dynasty was not Chinese history and Kublai Khan was not the emperor of China, why did he write history for the Liao, Song, Xia and Jin and acknowledge their legitimacy? And why to name the country Dayuan from a poem in the ancient Chinese classic Book of Changes? Why should China be governed by traditional Chinese political thought and bureaucracy? If you still insist on your opinion, I think you may think that the Yuan Dynasty was not founded by the dominant ethnic group of China, Han, but you should understand that national history is not the same as ethnic history. At this point, you can see why Mongolia can't claim Chinese territory right? As for why China has sovereignty over the South China Sea, I believe I have made it very clear above . The South China Sea has been under the control of the Central Dynasty of China since over 2,000 years ago, without interruption for over 2,000 years!
