Jukka (Bass) and Kai (Drums) are now in Nightwish. But this is effing amazing

I have listened this a thousand times, but still that reaction: WOW! Every time. One of my favorite songs of all times. They are all so good. Including the bassist, who hardly ever gets mentioned. His low vocals are amazing, as well.

For me one of the best albums ever. 4 songs , each one one season. All of them great but my personal favourite is “awaking from the dark slumber- spring”

Certainly one of my all-time favourites. I regularly listen to the entire album, and I never tire of it! 🖤🤘🏻 from Germany. Edit: Epica, Nightwish, Wintersun, Eluveitie, and for Nordic stuff Wardruna. Top tier stuff all the way. Not much more needed... Well, not to forget Heilung!

Everytime I watch this video, and I've seen it alot, I have still the same reaction you had. Still laughing seeing Kai happily banging away🤣🤣But also being in awe with the phenomenal guitar play. Wish i could to that haha. This song had 1670 tracks that had to be mixed! Still wow!

Yeah iv been having a lot of fun getting to find all these amazing bands I knew nothing about. I love the feeling you get when you find something you didnt know you were looking for your whole life

You've seen drummer Kai Hahto with Nightwish once so far. You have not yet seen bassist Jukka Koskinen over there yet, he joined after Marko left in 2021. Both are still listed as being Wintersun members, with Kai on hiatus since 2017. Jari is the lead singer, and from what I've heard , he is working on new Wintersun material. Time, from this same session, as others have suggested , is worth checking out.

Greetings from Finland, I´ve watched so m anyof these Wintersun reaction videos and have to say that this is one of the best !! So proud to live in Finland and have metal bands like Wintersun, Amorphis, Stratovarius, Battle Beast, Beast in Black...and of course the one and oly Nightwish =) But still, Wintersun, my personal favourite, wanted to buy their very rare LP-vinyl Time 1, but over 300€....hoping that santa claus is beeing nice to me in this christmas =)

There's also a drum cam play through with Kai Hahto. So amazing!

It was fun to see how your head started to nod right from the start the same way as everyone else's. Before Wintersun, Jari Mäenpää was a member in Ensiferum. Try their song "Lai Lai Hei". They have made some great songs also after Jari's time.

You found the next Finnish metal band! 😄 Singer-guitarist Jari Mäenpää is to Wintersun what Tuomas Holopainen is to Nightwish. Composer-lyricist. And now half of these musicians are also members of Nightwish. Drummer Kai Hahto has been playing Nightwish's drums since 2014 and Jukka Koskinen was the 2021 session bassist and this year a full member of Nightwish. Wintersun's next song could be from the same rehearsal situation, "Time". Kai Hahto, drummer. He is considered one of the best active metal / rock drummers. As you saw, the T-shirt he was wearing was from the Pearl company. Kai is indeed one of their most important drummers. There are several videos on KZread where Kai presents Pearl's products. Kai also makes a lot of so-called "drum-cam" videos. They are really fun to watch because the man is so talented.

Thats awesome, Iv always been a fan of drum cams. I have done quite a few of them for live bands I have covered over the years. I even have a playlist I put together with a sample of some Iv done here on the channel

@@TheKillogicEffect Kai Hahto has indeed made "drum cam" videos throughout his career. There are a lot of them from Nightwish and Wintersun concerts. In April of this year, I was at a Nightwish gig and our seat was just right. Close to the band and a little higher. I directly saw Kai Hahto's work, partly also the movements of his legs, because I saw his knees.. And it was great to follow him, the man is a complete machine!!! 😁 Here's a three-minute "drum cam" video from his youth when he played in the grindcore band Rotten Sound. He a total beast behind the drums, like a machine. SKill, talent, speed and accuracy off the scale, that's why he's known as the human metronome. He's a lovely humble guy though and often engages fans on social media, he's one of the most humble and open musicians I've seen in internetland :)

Life and metal is not same after listening Wintersun.

I just knew you'd really dig this one! Ppl will come and recommend the other famous two, so I won't have to do that. At 7:24 the drummer working his behind off is Kai Hahto, you'll recognize him from another pretty famous band. The base player Jukka is now in that same band and I'm really looking forward to hearing him growl alongside a certain Valkyrie Goddess ;) Should singer Jari, whose vocals I really admire, also join in.. man it will be metal overload. Would be awesome! The countermelodies on guitar alone are something to die for. Add to that the sublime time signature shifts, sick syncopation, Kai doing a 4/4 over bass pedal triplets or 6/8 (whatever), the compositional genius of it all and epic lyrics.. Yep, I really love this song. BTW: funny you'd say that at 20:10 haha, you'll see why. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘

Yes, Wow is pretty much the best word I can find to describe this as well and heard it many times now. They all so locked in, and Kai is a beast. Jukka on bass took Marko's spot on Nightwish, and as you saw, he can sing too.

Check out the other two songs from this same session. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for that. 🤟🤪🤘

There are lots of Kai Hahto drum cam videos. Here are two. Kai Hahto drum solo Tuska 2005. (Tuska Open Air Festival, tuska is the Finnish for pain, agony) Kai Hahto - Obey (This is with the band Rotten Sound) Many drum cam videos with Nightwish as well.

i have 9 songs from Wintersun in a playlist and nothing else. Ive listened to that playlist everyday for 2 years now and Im still not getting tired of it and you always discover more. Playlist is in Order (do not shuffle): Starchild, Darkness And Frost, Time, Sons Of WInter And Stars, Awaken from the Dark SLumber (Spring), The FOrest that Weeps (Summer), Eternal Darkness (Autumn), Loneliness (Winter) and finally Land of Snow and Sorrow. Try it. Best shit ever.

Great reaction. Concur with others on Time which I like even better then Sons of Winter and Stars. My favorite Wintersun song is Loneliness (Winter) from the Forest Seasons album. Perfectly captures the mood and silence of winter (grew up in Vermont so I can relate). You also should checkout Jari's previous band Ensiferum. He was their singer on their first two albums. Folk Metal with that Middle Ages/Viking warrior vibe. Lei Lei Hei is my favorite. No good videos from their early days so I recommend the studio version. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p3ml1ciSfLXXdMY.html.

What the hell!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂........ that was my first reaction, giving wintersun a second chance it was so funny, the first listen he scared the hell out of me, i started listening to a song half way in and straight away a loud scream!!!! At that moment it was a WTF!!!! so i stopped listening . After a few months i tried again and there was "Time"..... hopefully "Time " next thanks i loved your reaction, see you at the next one bye
