This is my all time favorite song. What I love about Wintersun is that the songs are exactly as long as they need to be. No compromises, no fillers.

Yes, the length is always right 👍
There's a documentary on KZread about the background of the album. It also explains that there's no one else playing than Jari himself. He's done everything else except some of him friend musicians in the choir parts, and the drums which you should know by now. The documentary, mostly Jari just speaking, is very interesting, check it for your own pleasure.

I watched it now, nice documentary. Such a musical genius 🤘❤️👍
He used programmed drums for the album, Kai wasn't available at the time. But they have played it live, Summer Breeze 2017, on KZread.

I thought Kai played, but didn't record, but it should be Kai's drumming. Unless I'm remembering something else.... I know Jari gave him credit in some video.
What an explosion it blows my mind in the most beautiful way 🤘🤘🤘

Yes, this is the feeling 🤘❤️👍
Kai's drumming makes me think of the Marvel Comic character "Juggernaut." He sets himself in motion, and just smashes through everything. ••• Thanks! PEACE!!!

As everyone knows now, Kai is not drumming here (I'm assured that he would shurely accomplish this.)@@Zwodrey

@Teme_FJT yes, heard it in the meantime. But I am also sure he could do it 🤘😄👍
This album is such a masterpiece..like all of Jari´s work. BTW..there is no drummer..its all drum machine on Jari´s PC... :P

Ah okay, I thought they had a drummer like in the rehearsal videos. I watched a live video from this song and there was a drummer. But this song is clearly an exhausting challenge. 😂

@@Zwodrey yeah sure for the tour he had the band together again..even tho not Kai cuz he alrdy was with nightwish..but for the recording it was almost Jari himself on everything
the whole album is great to listen to from 1st to last - and all of the videos also enhance each song

@@Zwodrey Haha, this band has only good songs. But I'd suggest "Winter Madness" or "Starchild"

So, now i have listened to your reaction. And you are right! The influences of early Dimmu Borgir are there. I want to split this one into 4 pieces actually. First section is relentless. Actually too much blastbeats for my tasting. Then you have the Dimmu Borgir section, which i enjoyed the most here. And then there is a more calm section followed bythe end section, which i enjoyed a lot, allthough there are (in my opinion) too much blastbeats here. The least played song on this album for me. But maybe i have to reconsider that...🤷♂️ Thanks for the reaction! 🤘

Yeah I love all the other songs but this one I used to ignore but now much later I listen to it from start to finish because of reactions and I love some parts of it and the dark theme sounds in the background are so well made (for example the spooky voices) and it really enhances the dark style of this song.
