Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. With wars and rumors of war, it is so comforting to rest in the peace and harmony of your homestead with cats and dogs, chickens and ducks all getting along!! You have quite a population of cats now! How many? Do they all have names? I just remember Velcro and Zipper. Thank you for allowing us into this spot of peace on our earth. God bless you all.

Here in Southern California I knew that last week's rainstorms would be our "greening rain". Sure enough, today I saw the first greening of the brown and seemingly barren local foothills. This signals the start of the California poppy phenomenon. These hills will be solid poppy in another month. BTW, thanks for the kitty footage.

We had -44°C temps in January and I was glad I could work from home - this is unusually cold for Calgary - here’s hoping we get enough snow that we aren’t facing drought conditions in the spring
Always enjoy watching the animals and fowl play! Please let us know how many cats you now have and if you've named them all. I remember Zipper and Velcro and Buttons.

Your video is marvellous. I really enjoyed watching it and seeing everything wintery thank you Arial and seeing all your critters living and enjoying the snow and cold conditions. We have been having lots of high temperatures here in Canterbury New Zealand. I’m picking lots and & tomatoes ( I grow them in pots along with chillies, peppers, courgettes, strawberries, corn (a first this year to grow in a pot) my beans had problems germinating due to cold spring/early summer nights I think and a few cam3 up but I had to buy new seed and re plant. Hi there. From S E Qld Australia . I was born and raised in Sth Otago on mixed and dairy 5miles south of Owaka, along the tracks from the Ratanui Railway Station. I miss my beautiful homeland and its even cooler temps. 36C with 80 plus % humidity is killing us this summer. Oh for some SNOW LOL !!!

Very pretty! I am in Daytona Beach, Florida. Your very cold is 40 below... our very cold is 40 ... it got to 20 one year... water mains broke, traffic lights wouldn't work .... Florida is not prepared for cold, hurricanes, but not cold.

Watching and wondering if you think this breed of duck is doing better than the last bunch you had. They seem more social with you, even. So many kitties running around now. Are they fixed or...? I enjoy the quiet happenings of winter days and you share it so beautifully.

It was 78* today in West Palm Beach FL. The snow looks pretty but I don't last long in it anymore 🥶
Oh Ariel, how Lulu would have enjoyed this video, especially the sights and sounds of the chickens. Sadly she met her demise in December from cancer. It was fast…she hid it well…we are still devastated that our calico sweetie is gone. Maybe she’s made new friends in her next life. Thank you for sharing your winter life with us. 😢

I wouldn’t mind winter if it was a sunny and white wonderland like in Wyoming. In Ohio it’s just gray. Almost all month.

@@davidw.patton9013 no its why the Nordic countries put tiny babies out in their prams, snow rain, sleet. Not hail. My Nefew moved to Norway and it cost them a small fortune in baby clothes for Nursery. The list is very specific under layers of wool cotton etc. Apparently they say there is no such thing as bad weather only bad clothes. So you go to a coffee shop the mums will all be drinking coffee inside and the prams are all lined up outside with happily sleeping babies.

@@davidw.patton9013 No, it’s actually the opposite. People have jumped in ice covered water for-ever. It’s really great for the body. Research it. You’ll be amazed. 🙂
