Winter Ride on my Beta Xtrainer 300

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The 2nd half of a local 40 mile loop that we rode 2 days before Christmas. My camera batteries are either dead or my SD card is filled by the time I get to this section so I started recording at about the 20 mile mark. Some of my favorite parts are in this video. Excellent tight and technical singletrack mixed with open and off camber stuff and a couple good hill climbs to navigate.

This was a freakin fantastic video. Quality was unreal too. Watched the whole thing from my couch. I gotta admit I was hoping you all stopped about 30 minutes into it cause I needed to rest a bit.

Thanks Chris! I’m glad you enjoyed it. This was only roughly half of the entire ride that day too!

Thanks! I still may get the suspension done at my local tuner but for now it feels pretty good for my riding style. Have you ridden one yet?

Nice ride. Also, that tree burl at about 2:30 is probably worth anywhere from $300-$3,000 or more. Have fun.

Thanks man, you are not the first person to notice that and say it was worth some money! I may need to go back there and cut it out 😆

So what do you think about the x trainer ? Is the suspension way soft or not as bad as some people say ? I’m 180 , looks like your doing just fine on it. Great that you guys can get out and ride.

I love the bike for the type of riding I do…it is sprung soft, and when I find myself in high speed stuff it makes me think I should get them revalved, but when we hit slow and nasty technical stuff, I remember why I went went with this bike. I’m also about 180lbs and 5’8” so being able to get my feet down at anytime makes the super technical stuff a breeze. Plus the bike is a featherweight so I don’t get tired as fast. I’d gladly give up some high speed stability for the amount of tight woods I ride.

@@Garage2Trail Have you ever rode it in the sand ? I ask because cause I’m in Michigan, lots of sandy trails here. Are trails are kind of flowing, any were from 2 to 3 gear speed.

I haven’t ridden any sand to be able to give an opinion unfortunately . I do know the high speed whooped out stuff that I have been on can be a little twitchy at times if you aren’t mindful of it.

I’m 5’8” and 155lbs. Are you able to hit small drop offs and small jumps on the XTrainer? Not talking big jumps. I ride woods, tight single track but also some fast flowy stuff. Nothing prob over 30mph ever. But there are some drop offs and small jumps. Thank you.

Yup it handles that stuff no problem. Sounds like the kind of stuff I ride with mine.

Do you ever run this on straight open trails at moderate revs just cruising?

Yeah I kinda run that when I’m on the roads going from trail to trail. It rides pretty smooth like that if that’s what you were wondering. Above 50 it’s a little “buzzy”

Nice loop you guys ride, how many miles you getting out of a full tank?

Thanks! Honestly I can’t say for sure because we fuel up about half way through and I still haven’t hit reserve. I know the reserve capacity is pretty big but if I had to guess probably 50-60 miles on a tank if you include reserve. Had to say for sure though.

Yeah, I’m at around 60hrs. I made sure to apply dielectric grease on all the electrical connectors because that’s where a lot of the failures seem to stem from. Did that before I even rode the bike. So far so good.

Yes I did the same but I just hear to many reports of failures that I’m not taking the chance, I will just premix !
