WINTER PARK COLORADO | CAMPING AND FLY FISHING

We are still in Winter Park Colorado, at a dispersed camping spot in the Arapaho National Forest off of Crooked Creek. on this trip
We share with you how we shower with our Joolca in rainy weather, and then head to Winter Park to eat at Sushi Nama. www.sushinama.net/
Later on we met up with Bill Schoonover to go Fly Fishing on the Fraser River. Bill is a local fishing guide who also works at Winter Park Flyfisher. Below are links to contact him if you would like to have a great fishing experience in the Winter Park area.

⛰ I’ve lived in Colorado for twenty years; beautiful mountainous terrain ever. Y’all should expect to find an array of minerals as well as possible pollutants throughout the lakes, rivers and streams as you’re in mining territory, but that never hindered my water activities or eating fresh catches. 🎣 Also anticipate a daily rain shower out yonder as was my experience through the years. ☔️

Hey Kellie & Cody! Subscriber & first time comment here...Love following your journey and the way you portray it. Also enjoyed your travel and commentary through my home state of Michigan. What prompted me to comment, was just to say a huge Thank You to Cody for making me laugh out loud and smile...not from the fishing or tips with the shower temps. But, for the opening couple of minutes...{CODY with child-like giddiness} "Oh y'all, did you see that cute little bunny?! But I think he's blind cuz his eyes are all cloudy and his ears are jacked up"...OMG, still LOL!!! It's okay, beauty is always in the eye (cloudy or not) of the beholder. LMAO. safe and happy travels, you two.

One time in Huffman TX we camped and it poured 🌧. We knew it was coming and used the thick tarp, very large, over our tents. Everything was dry. Worked very well. We put the rain fly on first then tied the tarp on top. When we camped in Huntsville TX in March, the tarp on top coming around the sides, helped keep the tent very warm with our heater. (Electric heater at this particular spot) Not sure if y’all prefer not to use it, but just sharing 😊

Cody, you should put a couple sticks under the edges of the tub that is covering your power station, to allow some air to flow underneath. It needs ventilation. Of course since it's cold there right now, you're probably okay anyway, but keep venting in mind...

Best to draw water from moving water. That water had more oxygen and is usually colder. Both suppress bacteria. And I mike the Kirks unscented soap. Biodegradable, no unpronounceable ingredients, lathers fast and in addition to a great body soap is also a great shampoo.

Winter Park Colorado is so beautiful. I've never tried Cloudy Sake it looks interesting. I'll have to look for it at Total Wine ( a store in my area) . Cody the drone shots were amazing at the Fraser River fishing spot. To see the mountains and the town of Winter Park in the distance was truly beautiful. I felt the essence of the area. In 1976 or so we were at a camp where my sister worked as an RN for the kids who were there. One day the skies opened qnd dumped a massive amount of water in a short time. We began to hear reports of flash flooding and later found out about the once in a hundred year flood down the Big Thompson between Estes Park and Loveland all the way to Greeley. 144 people lost their lives. Not telling you to scare you but seeing all the rain you are dealing with and knowing how much you all love the rivers and creeks just want you to know and be prepared. Fun fact so not all gloom: my cousin was a waiter at the ski resorts near Gunnison and Telluride. He met Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork (Monkees) and Also Sylvester Stallone whom he said was surprisingly much shorter than he expected and that he wore lifts to be taller. Ahhhh fun facts to ponder at camp! Have fun. My uncle used to go to Brainard Lake to fish and always came home with a load of trout Cody!

Kellie, you are just wrong about the wine. You cook with wine and the cook and Cody then finishes the bottle. It will turn if you don’t drink it. When you open it, drink it. That is our normal. The cook always gets a glass of wine.

Andrew (Joolca) Jul 22, 2022, 11:37 GMT+10 Hi Wesley, Thanks for getting back to us! Since the HOTTAP is flaming out at 9k ft elevation, the flames in the burners will be a lot smaller due to lower oxygen levels at higher altitudes. Thus, the flame sensor might easily detect that there are no flames and suddenly shut the gas supply off. If you'd like to adjust the flame sensor, I've attached a guide on how to do this. I reckon that this should do the trick here. To take off the front panel, unscrew 1 screw at the bottom and take off the dials at the front (this can be done with pliers). Then slowly jimmy off the front panel, but be sure to take it off slow as there are 2 connectors connecting the front panel LED monitor to the base unit. Just unclip those two clips and you're in. Once in, you'll see the piezo igniter and flame sensor on the right-hand side held in by a metal bracket and one screw. (refer to pics). What you want to do here is unscrew that screw so that you can move the flame sensor (the one on the RIGHT) lower. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE IT TOUCH THE METAL OTHERWISE THE UNIT WILL NOT IGNITE. You want to get it as close as you can to the metal without touching it. Once done, tighten that screw up again. Be sure to check that neither the flame sensor nor igniter is touching the metal. Once that's done, put the front panel back on and you're good to go. Let me know. Regards,

Just sharing a thought: I don’t understand why either a husband or a wife might feel they need permission to participate in activities that the other might not partake of. I so often hear men say “their wife gave them permission” which crosses my mind as the other partner being of such a control freak or of a parental figure in one’s relationship. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@AndreasAntics - I’m in complete understanding when it comes to like major purchases in life that a mutual agreement is totally warranted. But everyday casual activities that might not be of interest to each other should never be discarded nor should either party feel uncomfortable partaking of such.
