You guys are fantastic! I'm 25 years old and first learned to trap by my father 4 years ago. I put out my first trap line with several properties this year and have been doing all the fleshing and stretching (fist time) as well. There is no other craft like it!
Great video Thanks. I traped for years here in Alaska. But I'm old now so I watch you young guys.😊👏👏
Very interesting
Very nice to show us how to dry off beavers in winter "properly!....Thanks
Love the video guys please keep them coming ❤
That looked like a hard day's work, but you might not have noticed since you were having fun.

You taught me so much about beaver trapping even tho I was a beaver trapper before watching your videos I know what all the bubbles are coming from along the shoreline when there's no snow you can see them here and there along lakes and sloughs
Very nice. I remember my days in Ely trapping. I miss those good old days.
awesome video you guys hammer them beaver
Glad to see this tradition carried on and young men in the marsh and afield.

I was thinking the same thing. They fight ice while we're still fighting Cottonmouths! I'm not sure I would enjoy trapping in that cold... :)

Thanks!! Yep around here they are such a problem many counties pay 100.00 per beaver to have them trapped
Team work at its best. You guys rock!
awesome video guys.
Didn't think there was that many beaver on the planet. Man do you guys put a smackdown on the beavers. Great catch
Have u tried the tail for Dakota perch? Kinda curious if it would work on some jumbos or maybe on a tip up.
Enjoyed! I need to get back out there and chase under the ice beaver.
tony you got any scooby snacks man i know shaggy always did.
These bank dens are Interesting!
Awsome
Круто!!! Вы хорошо потрудились! И отличный результат!
Good vid and good job on the line looking for vids .
Nice
is the guy in the blue sweater, Tony, really Matthew Lillard acting out as a trapper?
Wish I had learned how to do this when I was a younger man. I can spot a lodge, but hanged if I would know where to set a trap. With all the effort it takes, it must be so gratifying to catch something in the trap.
The beaver trappers !! You too sure know how to catch beaver !!! Great job. Keep them videos comming.

Great videos. Love watching and getting tips. Do you put up all your fur or do you have a buyer that takes them on the carcass? I do some trapping north of cross lake and some down here in the cities. Always looking for someone that will take em green. Thanks for the info. Keep up on the great content
Otter eat a lot of fish ! And they dig a lot holes in the pond or lake dam !very little bad dude ! Lol !
Damn good day! Hope you can continue this! Be safe and continue to catch!
What are you getting for a big blanket beaver these days.
Right on boys got some nice winter beaver plus otter and rats bonus 🤑🤑😎🤜🏻
That was a great video. Can't wait for another one from you.
A helpful tip is to use a ice scoop to clean your holes to you don't have to fight the big ice chunks
Good job you guys very good trapping Bing I was wondering where you guys located where that is in United States
I take it you find all the runs before ice up and Mark them. How would you find the runs after ice / snow covers the pond, lake river. ???
How do you guys always find the home run? after ice up i have alot of trouble finding a good run into the den and almost never can find those bank dens?
@330Maniac

It takes practice. We trapped 15 seperate lodges and found good runs on all of them
2 dibila!
Yes!!!! A trapping video. I love your trapping videos. Do you pre stake ur den runs before the snow? If not how do u find them with the snow?
@330Maniac
5 жыл бұрын
No we don't. An active run will have little to no ice over the top of it. If you tap on the ice with a spud bar the ice will sound very hollow over a runway.

@@330Maniac thanks for the tip. Your videos have really helped me out this year with water trapping. Keep it up
Otters eat alot of fish and clam shells.
Otters are cool to watch I know, but I have a SMALL bass pond on my property and going into fall I had 6 nice bass in it and going out there one afternoon I saw an otter coming out of the spring hole that never freezes. Come spring , guess what. ? Not one bass remaining.
I want to get into trapping I have always wanted to my neighbor would come home with a f150 box full of beaver almost everyday and I'd sit and watch him skin them all I was probably 10-12 and never got out and did it myself but i am going to scout some areas out and get some traps and try it out lots more to trapping then setting a trap lol awesome video I love it if you can keep trying to make more trapping videos I'm a fisherman too and I bow hunt so I dig your vids man.
Très impressionnant! Bravo!
Cool video,love the content.please keep it coming 👍🏻✌🏻🙌
You guys process your own beaver and other furs?
I'm 17 and I started trapping when I was 14. The creek that I trap in is very steep, both above and below the waterline. Any rain at all will cause it to flood up to 10 feet high. I live in Illinois and the winter months has become warmer over the years so there's a lot of rain. I have a very difficult time locating burrows and because of how deep it is, there are no runs I can set. I target beaver and muskrats but I don't have a boat. Any suggestions on what sets I can make?

Adrian Simone I’m in the same boat check public land around you they usually have lots of beaver and if u fish or hunt make note when you see beaver activity, dens, cuttings. I’ve caught two otter my limit for the year in two days and a few beaver this year. Since the creek is flooding high the beavers will probably move somewhere nearby in the floodplain or a body of water because they can’t live underwater in a house that’s 5 feet underwater obviously. Just keep at it you’ll find em.
I agree, some good stew right there, jerky too. My friend and I were talking about trapping a couple and tanning and making a willow hoop to put on the wall. I have not trapped them in decades.
Awesome as always! Wow those were some huge beavers!! 👍
Great video keep it up been waiting on a trapping vid 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Where are you located? Love the vids, brings back a lot of memories when I was a kid!!
Do you sell the fur ? Or know of s good site to buy from.

@330Maniac

Theres a buyer in ashby and one in downer
Otter meat is the best tasting meat I ever had. I’ve been eating the beaver meat and putting it one crockpot. It tastes good too providing you do not hit the castor bag or allow urine leakage on the meat from the bladder.
How many beavers are present per sq kilometer..Does this affect the balance like floods, water levels..Does this affect in your area.
@330Maniac
5 жыл бұрын
I do not know the exact number but there is a colony of them in every lake or river around here. We can't trap them fast enough to keep the population down. They are extremely overpopulated and destructive
@330Maniac
5 жыл бұрын
So as a Biologist how would you remove beaver causing damage to property? When they flood farmland? In these areas the populations are too high and we remove the beavers and open the dams up allowing the water to recede. Do you just leave a note on their lodge asking them to leave? Or if I removed the beaver I have now reduced the population in the area to an acceptable level thus proving the fact a trapper was needed to reduce populations? I'll wait for your response because it should be a good one. And I'm expecting a better response than your half hearted comment up above that we just use it as an excuse. I commented with facts about beaver damage and I'll expect facts back.
Great trapping guy's. nice catch.
Great video! How many miles are you putting on to catch your numbers? Do you (or can you) use poplar snare poles under ice? That's my preferred method for winter beaver hear in Ontario.
@330Maniac
5 жыл бұрын
Around 40 miles round trip each day. Poplar sets should work pretty good here this time of year as well.
