Winter Beach Fishing: Search for Big Eels | Surf N' Turf Cooking | Man Alone [PART 2]

Ойын-сауық

Join Graeme in part 2 of his man alone series as he goes early winter beach fishing. In Part 2 of Graeme's fishing quest to hook into a big Conger Eel from the beach, he gets up and hits the shore at dawn to get his chance with low light levels and hopes to be there for the top of the tide. He starts up a survival fire on the beach to stave off the cold and ends up dining like a King with his Surf n' Turf meal over the embers. Not one other person is on the beach and he relishes in the solitude. It's what British beach fishing is all about, enjoying yourself even if the fishing gets tough...Enjoy!

I was recommended to because of anxiety and depression and it has helped . So I do agree and disagree with your comment as I relieve PTSD anxiety and stress.. how far you let yourself get stressed because of means you're doing.. stressing when fishing means you're fishing the wrong.

I really enjoyed it too. I won a Barbour jacket in the Angling Times Christmas competition and a few years later I missed the last bus home. I walked home down a long, dark, canal towpath. I was miserable until I found a forgotten steak and kidney pie in the brilliant poachers pocket of my wonderful jacket. I demolished that pie and it got me home. The pie had come from my local fish and chip shoo.I hadn’t been to a chip shop (on the way home from the pub) for two months. I love pies.

@TA Fishing. Have you ever seen a prospector wash some sediments in a pan, looking for gold? They use some water and swirl the pan and tip out the dirty water. Repeat. And repeat again, until the water is clear and they are left with 'black sand' and (hopefully) a few flakes of gold. What they have done is washed away the lighter sediments and they are left with the heavy sediments. These include metals (mostly iron ore) and other dense minerals and they bring the dark colour. Prospectors call the gold flakes 'colour' as it flashes-in-the pan against the dull dark sandy background. The waves do a similar thing to the beach. They separate out the heavy (dark) and the light elements.

Hi Graeme, love the channel! I'm new to sea fishing and there doesn't seem To be many videos on how to read the weather forecasts for good fishing? I use the more seaweed app and When I look at the forecast I'm no further forward on when is the best tide etc and how to use the forecast to your advantage? Would be great to see a video from someone like yourself explaining how to use forecast details to maximise your fishing.and how to know when the waves are going to be pretty big on the piers etc so you don't venture into trouble,as I nearly did the other day (oops!) Luckily we saw the swell starting to gain height and headed back just in time, so a bit of advice on using the forecasts to know when big swells are due.i know this is a big ask but I feel for beginners like myself learning how to understand the forecasts would be a great addition. Many thanks if this comes to fruition, and keep up the great content 🎣🎣🎣

Some of your best videos are ones where your not as successful as you want to be, for me its pure escapism. I can't get to the coast so you bring it into my home. The sound of the sea, little touches like the water running down the cliffs, the views and your open fire on the beach. Then we have your cook up with a Tesco Steak Pasty that tastes good? It actually made me feel hungry and the whiting looked great too. We should also respect the fact that you carried all your tackle and the camera equipment down to the beach and then all the way back up just to bring us some great entertainment (two journeys, I bet). Thank you for posting and stay safe.

Mind is younger but the joints need some WD40)... I think I'm the only one left of my era that's still cranking stuff out entirely on my own...I can't believe I went all the way back down the same cliff steps at dawn !!

Hi Graeme. Just wondering. Watching vids from you and smash fishing. He just hooks half mackerel through the jaw and you wrap it on to the hook. Is it just due to the different areas you are both fishing

Just different methods .As a general rule binding a bait is so you can get extra distance when casting in shallower water. If you have the luxury of living near rocky areas straight into deep water you can just hook your bait once and lob it out. All depends on how far you have to cast your bait.. The Somerset beaches are flat and shallow so you need to get the bait out a bit.
