More people are complaining about the companies they work for these days.
Too much debt.
Too many zoom calls.
Corporate speak.
Emails and texts late at night and on weekends.
And yet higher prices for food, rent and gas…
Not to mention higher interest rates and prices for homes…
This means most workers and families have to be in the upper 20 percent earnings brackets just to stay ‘middle class’.
So it’s a rat race.
Hamster wheel.
Chasing the endless carrot.
Especially for creative workers…this is a recipe for disaster.
But all of us need to be able to be creative.
Maybe it’s time to employ two traits perceived as negative, to recharge our creativity and energy.
Procrastination.
And Laziness.
Back in the mists of time there were no clocks.
No ‘devices’.
We rose with the sun.
Went to bed with the stars.
We had time to think…
To dream.
To process.
These days it’s a crucible.
A mind numbing, exhausting merry go round of nonsense.
Yes, we need goals, teamwork and hard work to accomplish anything.
Not being relentlessly urged to get up at 5 AM…
To be ‘warriors’…
To waste time in endless meetings and zoom calls.
Maybe a great tactic would be to put it off, call in sick…
And do nothing.
Maybe it’s a little tongue in cheek, this installment of The Bob Davis Podcasts, but then again.
I do these videos after I finish an audio podcast. Usually a couple of days later.
So the videos are often a little more fresh than the podcast…
With even more insight because I’ve had a chance to think about the topic a little.
This is the first video I’ve done with added lighting, which had to be a bit dimmer to allow the fire and tiki torches to shine through.
So it might be a little dim. So you can just put phone down and listen.
