My puppy got over excited with strangers so I had to tell them to give her no greeting or eye contact. She settled immediately. Everyone noticed. One day a guy came and refused to follow my request, fussing over her and she went nuts. Running around at top speed knocking things over leaping up at him . He then said she was an out of control dog who should be caged!! EVERYONE there turned on him and told him he was the one who should be caged! He was never invited back! It took a few months of ignoring and social interaction with other dogs and she became an amazing chilled dog. She was able to sense if others needed comfort from her and became an unofficial therapy dog who spent days with depressed people or those who were sick or scared. She would look at me and then turn and follow them to the door and went with them. I never had to say a word. RIP Bella
