I fished my first big bass bash at Smith Mountain Lake and won some money! It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to fish more big bass style tournaments in the future.

@@JenkinsBassFishing on sunday i started on the main lake and wound up in blackwater and like you thank god i had a good rain suit. Fall fishing can be tough but when you put a couple thousand people out there somebody is going to catchem.

It was a grind for sure. It was amazing to see how many big fish were pulled out of that lake though.

I have no clue on tournaments. Does the fish have to stay alive that whole time? Does it have to be on video to prove that you got it there? Guess I’ll have to do some learning.

The fish has to stay alive the entire time otherwise you get penalized. Then at the end of the tournament you bring your fish to the scales to get weighed. If it is suspected that you might have cheated in some way, you may have to take a lie detector test.

I've heard different stories on this. If you win a new boat at a tournament don't you have to pay an enormous tax on it before receiving it ???

Yes I’ve heard it’s treated just like regular income.. not an issue I need to worry about until I win one lol
