It's amazing all the contradictory statements made about the Triniti--it's too hard, too soft, doesn't bounce, bounces too high, etc. First off, contra statements that the ball is too light--the ITF strictly regulates ball weight. It must weigh 1.985-2.095 ounces. Most mortals can't distinguish this range by feel. Secondly, Triniti balls are NOT pressureless. They have about half the pressure of a standard tennis ball. The rubber is thicker than a standard tennis ball and both the rubber and felt have been reformulated to keep the ball within the weight, bounce height and traditional feel parameters of the standard ball. Yes, the sound they make is different (although there is disagreement about what that sound actually is) and the feel is different. Of course different ball brands feel different--the Wilson U.S Open reds feel harder to me than, say, the Tecnifibre or ProPenns. Some of that feel difference is likely due to your specific stroke technique. All that said, I like the Triniti balls. I don't notice any difference in bounce height (this, too, is regulated by the ITF), the reformulated felt is long lasting and they keep their bounce many times longer than a traditional ball, which makes them great for ball machines, etc. The sound they make is somewhat different than a traditional ball and I suspect that is this sound difference that causes players to ascribe the different and contradictory ball characteristics they do.

@@m2n900 If you're breaking balls all the time, the Triniti is the way to go, hands down. There are now two Triniti ball models. They are both pricier than the US Open, Dunlop, etc. But their longevity really compensates for this. The higher priced Triniti model is said to have an even closer feel to the traditional ball. This higher priced model seems to be available only by the case, though.

@@m2n900 No, I've never used the newer Trinity model. I would guess that there wouldn't be much difference in the longevity of the two models, though. I believe the reason for the extra longevity of Triniti balls is that they only have half the air pressure of typical tennis balls and this substantially reduces the pressure loss because of diffusion through the ball.

In the federal state I live in Germany the tennis association made the "old" (green packaged) Wilson Triniti Pro ball obligatory for match and tournament play last year. As in: if you don't use it, you'll have to pay a fine. So I pretty much only played matches with that ball last year, as many other Germans did too. This was the worst tennis ball I have ever played with, in every aspect. My team including me consists of 4.5 and 5.0 players and those balls didn't even last more than one practice session. At least one ball literally broke. We didn't get shoulder/elbow/wrist/etc. problems because we are still in our twenties, nevertheless many other players complained about that. So players all over our federal state sent complaints to the tennis association to get that ball removed and return to the old one used before. The tennis association then did a major fuck up (probably because they made a contract with Wilson) by responding "we can't understand why you don't like the ball, it was awesome in our playtests and seemed very suitable. Nontheless we will work on creating a new, better ball" What did Wilson do? Released pretty much the same ball in a blue package instead of a green one. What did the tennis association do? Made that one obligatory. That's when shit hit the fan. Everyone flamed them for this and threatened to boycott every team match and not to play any tournaments (hence no money for the tennis association). That's where they got scared and released a statement that we get to play with pressurized balls again and are back into research about an alternative. End of story: I am all for new technologies and ways to protect the enviorment, also with new sustainable tennis material, but the old version of the ball was just complete trash, the new one is better by a margin, but definetely not suited for match play.

In the past, we used to have the Tretorn Plus balls with the same characteristics of the wilson Trinity and that too in the 90s itself. They were really good balls and the bounce stayed true (in fact, forever). I also remember the Indian junior Nationals using the Tretorn Plus balls. Wonder why that didn't become popular!

I switched last year from Pro Penn to using Triniti exclusively and love it. It’s true that it is a little harder, but it spins and bounces great for several hours, even at altitude. It might not be the ball for everyone, but with how it plays, how long it lasts, and how I’m no longer wracked with guilt about not being able to recycle ♻️ tubes, it’s the one for me. And yes, I was trying to make the last sentence super long as a tribute to the Triniti’s durability. 😁

@@m2n900 For longevity, I'd go with the Triniti. It holds up really well and is well suited to bashing against a wall. For feel, the Dunlop ATPs are the best. I suspect they're made in the same factory in the Philippines as the Slazenger balls. The Slazengers are my favourite ball and the Dunlop ATP feels identical. But of course, these lose pressure over time. You could look at getting a ball pressuriser. They're not too expensive and quickly pay for themselves.

Thanks for the reply…. Truly appreciate the knowledge…. Actually pressure is not really my problem… I hit the balls pretty hard… so I actually prefer balls that a little “slow” … my issue is actually breaking the balls 🤦🏻 ….. I broke a hole can of my brothers slazenger in few days… 🤦🏻 and I play around 1200 meters of altitude… the Dunlop ATP extra duty have a high altitude version … I’m thinking of getting one of each and try them all out…. 😂

@@m2n900 I wonder if the high altitude is causing the balls to break. There would be a higher differential between the pressure in the ball and the pressure outside causing more stress to the surface of the ball. In this case, the Triniti might be a better option, since it relies on the ball rubber rather than internal pressure to give it bounce. Can't hurt to give them a try.

I like the Triniti Pro, 4.0 player, have been using them for months now. No arm issues. Bounce is great and lasts for many hours of play time, only stop using the ball when most of the felt is worn off. Yes, they sound different, but so what? Doesn’t bother me. Really like the recyclable ball container. Because they last so long they are much less expensive than any other quality ball. Every year, SEVERAL HUNDRED MILLION tennis balls end up in landfills all over the world. If everyone switched to this type of ball that number would be reduced by well over 50%. Please think about that.
