Wilson Triniti Pro Ball Review

I'm reviewing a tennis ball for the first time, the Wilson Triniti Pro ball. The original Triniti ball had a lot of buzz around it because of it's eco-friendly packaging. How does the new Triniti Pro compare to the original? Let's find out in today's video.

Regarding your cost analysis; you say it is too expensive but since it can be played with for 3 to 4 times as long as any other ball in reality the Triniti Pro is far far less expensive than any other ball. People typically use tennis balls for one, two, maybe three matches. The Triniti will maintain its bounce for much longer. I play multiple times/week and use the same Triniti balls for weeks until the felt is practically worn off. I buy a case of them which means the cost per 3 balls (you can’t say “cost per can” with these since there is no can ;-) is about 30% more than other balls. Since they can be used for far longer, in reality the Triniti cost is a small fraction of the cost of other balls. The real issue here is that, like most humans, tennis players are very conservative when it comes to trying something new and any perceived change, such as the sound the ball makes, or the different feel, means players reject the ball outright. I can’t stress enough that tennis ball pollution is a real issue; over 300 million tennis balls are trashed each year and plastic ball “cans” are not recyclable! (Look for a recycling symbol on them; there isn’t one) If everyone switched to longer lasting balls we could reduce that trash amount dramatically. So, get over the small differences and think about the benefits and remember that by the case Triniti balls are actually much cheaper. Thank you for reading this.

I have been using the Wilson triniti for a year now and have liked both the original and the pro version. To me it is cheaper than even the Costco balls because I can play with them for up to two months and when I de comisión the old ones, they move to the hopper and they continue to work very well for teaching. The other great aspect is that I bought the case and don’t have to worry about the balls going flat in a year or so. Do they feel as good as a top quality tennis ball? No, but they are pretty enjoyable for practice!

The original Trinity has a break in period where for the first 40min-1 hour of hitting it feels weird Hollow and heavy. After that is just the best ball for the recreational level. It lasts till it will loose all the felt on them keeping a good bounce. Maybe the bounce is like 20% less than a new ball but the new ball after 2 sets will already lose a lot of bounce and this one just stays there and does not drop. I opened two cans Months ago and I am playing twice a week and I am still using them and they are ok. By by to spend money in balls. Now the balls are just with zero felt and I will just buy two more cans and keep the old ones as trainign balls. With the Trinity Pro the intention was to make a tournament ball that does not have this one hour breaking period and feels good from the first momment but in my opinion the Pro is not worth it. It degrades faster than the normal Trinity and the braking period is lower than the normal Trinity but is still there. So my recomendation is just buy the standar Trinity and you will have balls forever and you will save a huge money in balls. By the way this are pressure-less balls

I absolutely love the original trinity. Its my favorite ball and head tour comes in 2nd. Now days a pack of 3 balls is about 11-12 usd (which is almost dirt chip where i live (Moscow)) Sadly had no chance trying out new Trinity Pro. And i think you should have made a "head to head comparison" since you did not tried the original. Most ppl describe original trinity as "heavy" but still likes em after all especially after 15-20 min rally when they become more lively. And longevity is absolutely great!

Sorry for late resonse, but ive tried pro and original. Original is the better choice for better players. The original had thinner felt and would lose felt over time. The newer pro had more felt but to keep weight the same they reduced some rubber. As a result the pro collapses easily when you hit it hard wheras the original rarely collapsed, only perhaps on 95%+ full power hits. For less experienced players, the pro is a better choice as the felt lasts longer.

I dont understand if it lasts 3x other tennis balls and is 2x the cost why is this a problem? It means its 30% cheaper. In Toronto the Wilson US Open can is 8 Bucks, Wilson TRinity is 8 bucks (in my experience lasts WAY longer) and Wilson Trinity Pro is 9 bucks. Even if the Trinity lasts x2 or x1.5 it saves money and the environment. Its a massive winner, what am I not getting here?

I like the original Triniti, but haven’t experienced the heavy feeling you’ve felt. The other option is the Triniti “Club” which costs less and is rarely in stock at Wilson’s website.

For play in temperatures under 55° F, original Triniti balls far outperform normal compressed balls. Normal balls bounce much lower once they reach ambient temperature. For use in a ball machine, they excel and feel lighter once they’ve lost some felt. I haven’t bought any other ball for two years. The original Triniti's are worth the price.

No, they have pressure. But the can is pressureless.

They have pressure but do not lose it the same way that normal pressurised balls do, so they do not have to be kept pressurised.
