I'm so heartbroken over his passing! He was such a Beautiful person, inside and out. With a voice that can make the hardest person melt like butter. God Bless you Willie Spence, you were truly an Angel on Earth! May you finally Rest In Peace! 🙏🏾❤😢😇

Heaven isn’t real

I'm here 2 years later still trying to figure out how Willie did not become crowned American Idol 2021. He checked off everything that makes a singer perfect - vocals, range, control, diction, emotional interpretation, owning it! I really love this man's voice so much and I hate that he is gone so soon. #myidol2021

Because they’re picky🙄🙄 every good singer has to go through “hell” in order for them to get the recognition that they deserve & then unfortunately he passed away before he could get his shot! Sad story but it’s the truth sometimes I wonder if he would’ve won American idol would he would’ve gotten into that car wreck by accident smh guess we’ll never truly know but I know he’s singing/shining bright like a diamond❤️💎💯 May your beautiful soul forever rest in heavenly peace!

I lost my mom also in 2020 and I understand you. Some random things just make you remember her.

I couldn't watch this without crying. He was literally the teddy bear of American Idol. He was nunthin but smiles and filled with so much joy. Now God finally has another angel and that angel has a beautiful and angelic voice. We will always love you, Willie! 🥹💖🕊😇👼🏽

This audition will never get tiring. I remember watching this the night it aired and I had nothing but major feels from this performance. It still effects me the same way today. I just recently found out about Willie's passing and was so heartbroken. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans. His voice is that of an angel and will live on with us forever. Thank you for the absolutely beautiful and heart felt performance Willie, may you Rest in Paradise.

Awwww i could not have put that better myself!! I only found him a few weeks ago on utube singing that in a classroom, I left a comment saying why has this guy not been snapped up, not knowing he was on American idol…..then to find out he died in a car crash. I was so gutted, I cried so much over a stranger…someone I haven’t even met!!! All I know is his voice touched my soul!!! Obviously he has done what he had to do in this life & God needed to take him home because heaven was missing an Angel!! Wow what a legend!! What an impact he had on peoples lives.Diamond’s never had an impact on me until I heard him sing that song! RIP BEAUTIFUL SOUL!🙏🏻😪💔

A friend posted today about Willie's passing. Where I live there isn't American idol shown. I'm very grateful my friend shared Willie's audition and that Willie selected "Diamonds." He truly has a place in all our hearts that shines as a diamond♦️star 🌠in the sky🌋

Man... rest in peace. I was one of many who watched his first uploaded cover right here on youtube, he blew us all away. I still believe he has the best cover to date! Again, rest easy Willie.
