UPDATE: After we wrapped up the shoot (~10 more minutes) we did one more test and they key bent and almost snapped! The heat had decreased the resin's bending modulus (stiffness) 😲 Thank goodness we did the test fast and got Katelyn out 😅
The title really makes it sound like she got locked in by accident and this was Evans solution

Evan and Katelyn: resin time
Just a small recommendation in the future if you have a project that requires a smaller needle: when I worked in a veterinary clinic and we needed to syringe-feed thicker foods, we loaded the syringes from the back instead of trying to draw them up. If you take the plunger out completely and hold something on the tip to keep it from leaking (take the needle off first of course) then you may be able to pour the resin into the larger end. Air might be an issue but if you fill right up to the top of the syringe before you put the plunger back on it should be minimized. Regardless, thanks as always for letting me vicariously live out my resin dreams, and keep up the great work you two!! :D
