Cold dark day in FaB when you can no longer chant “pew pew for two…” 😢

I think it’s going to be a sad day when one of these heroes goes… Although it is interesting how long they have endured as others have come and gone. I think they serve as solid test beds in all new metas, before the big brains work out the optimal line with the newer kids on the block. I personally will be very sad to see Dash go (I just don’t think I/O has the same feel…), although I think she will probably survive this season with Zen looking as hot as he does. When Vis goes, there will be tears….

This is a really interesting video and, introspectively, fascinating to delve into… Not only do I gravitate towards heroes that aesthetically, thematically, or personally appeal to me, but I also hold one of those OG heroes in a special light; Viserai. Following your video, I realized that I was always happy when Viserai received a nerf, which would prolong his stay in the format (at that time in the meta, I was actually happy about the skelata ban as a Viserai main). Interestingly enough, I’m not entirely certain how I will feel about Viserai’s future retirement… I think (but do not know because it hasn’t happened yet), that I will be mostly unaffected so long as a new Viserai replaces the old Viserai within a year to a year and a half. If I were a Dash main, I would be thrilled because I have a new version of Dash to fall back in. However, not everyone will feel like me because, for the most part, I don’t care if my favorite hero is at the top of the meta. But like all thought provoking activities, your video has also stirred a unique emotion; momentary frustration. While I genuinely do not care if my favorite hero is at the top of the meta, I do not want that hero to be uncompetitive. Right now Zen may be an outlier, but I am not sure how Bonds of Ancestry can exist in the current meta as a theoretical 9 of (I know most run 5-6). While tangential and off topic, your video made me realize that 1) I want Viserai and my lesser faves to stay in rotation for as long as possible; 2) I want these heroes to competitive and fun. If power creep has been allowed in the format (I believe it is here based on the recent power of armor pieces, damage output of heroes, and the duration of this wonderful game), is it time to look to unban some of the OG’s tools (selfishly speaking skelata, duskbkade, etc.)? Andrew, great video as it really drummed up some significant FaB reflection - thanks.

Oh, for sure. I think losing Anothos will carry waves people can't really think of. Kodachis probably are too good and could stand to go.

Well i have many heroes made and currently after losing second time a main meta hero i was playing (chane in past and dromai) i rly thinking about resinge from game. Even if i rly like enigma investing 500€ again in to new deck is bad. I rly hate that idea that new hero don't use old cards and they are fundementaly different from previous. If cards would be reprinted i am fine with them. But losing value bc they become unplayable bc of rotatation of hero is rly bad. It isn't something what i belive was promised to us.

I respect your feelings, for sure. That said, LL system has been here since the inception of the game. On top of that, they have shown a willingness to backfill heroes & class/talents - it just takes time. Your cards may be un-playable for a small period of time, but will cycle back. I am personally a fan of having a sub-set of evergreen (always legal) heroes - but that's in no way to say that every hero should be legal forever. That's completely unsustainable.

I think reprinting is a big issue in this game. Cards like CNC, Codex of Frailty etc cost way too much. Not fun that you need to drop 200-300€ to get a play set for your deck. It's weird that Legendary cards gets reprints but key majestic don't
