I grew up in the 80's and definitely didn't sound like that. It was much earlier when Aussies sounded similar to that. 40's to 50's possibly.

The new mad max is not crushing anything .. He opted for more CGI in this one , therefore ruining the film .. It's the real stunts & choreography that made fury road so amazing.. So no he missed the mark on this one in a big way ..

Say, the US for example, you can find the same accent in coastal Virginia, California and Connecticut. The more rural you get the more you pick up local accents but there is a very distinct “normal” American accent.

The new mad max is not crushing anything .. He opted for more CGI in this one , therefore ruining the film .. It's the real stunts & choreography that made fury road so amazing.. So no he missed the mark on this one in a big way ..

Say, the US for example, you can find the same accent in coastal Virginia, California and Connecticut. The more rural you get the more you pick up local accents but there is a very distinct “normal” American accent.

Sort of Australian and Cockney rolled into one. It was a period of part of the evolution of Australian banter. My grandfather spoke like this in NSW back when I was younger... in the 70's. He was born in about 1900.

I'd say about 85% was really good. I didn't like the cheap looking efx, and some of the girl boss moment took me out of the movie. But other than that, had fun watching the movie.
