Dude what kind of swim program do you have?? If you're swimming 6 days a week that's 10000+ yards a day.

@@PerryScanlon 60 miles a week is way too much for a half miler, they could injure themselves during season running that much, at the very most a half miler should run 40 miles a week

Collegiate half milers are going to get most of your mileage through easy runs and maybe a long run a week and most of them will be at the most 6 miles for easy days and 10 miles at the most for long runs. Anything more than that would be overkill and wouldn't make sense. It's important to have speed days because your not going to be able to hit a 52-53 in the first lap if your only doing mile repeats and tempos. So hard workouts, 3-4 a week, will be less than 1.5 miles.

@@danielarmstrong946 some collegiates and pros will go to 60, but the energy split may differ between athletes, so someone doing it 60% anaerobic, 40% aerobic could get by on lower mileage and more track work. Someone at 40% anaerobic and 60% aerobic could benefit more from 60 miles per week and less track work.
