@@mmmcfc9332 I don't think so. He just started missing easy balls. There was an incident with his snooker cue which he had since he was a youngster. If I remember correctly, they wouldn't let him take it on a plane as hand luggage and it was broken by the baggage handlers.

I’ve seen since that he developed some sort of yip where his right arm wouldn’t get through the ball on certain shots and that’s probably what I was thinking about. It’s mad that we’re thinking “what if his game didn’t leave him” about a 7x world champion isn’t it.

This man is considered one of the greatest of all time. He is the GOAT in his own right and for his time. Hendry has nothing to be envious of in my opinion. He is saying the same thing about Ronnie that Steve was saying about him. The fact is that the standards of all competitive sports will increase and decrease. Nobody will remain number 1 forever and nobody will have the record forever. There will always be someone out there that will succeed you. To be part of the GOAT is where it is at. Hendry, what a player.

I think when it comes to Ronnie O’Sullivan it’s somewhat different. Be a long time waiting for someone to come along who is as consistently good as him.

Henry reminded me of iceman in top gun...not flashy but ruthless...Ronnie is maverick for obvious reasons. Both special talents.

Hendy's domination in that streak is on another level too! It reminds me of Barry Sanders.

Used to love watching him battle it out with Steve Davis.

I agree, if Ronnie had Stephens mind and mentality he’d of had at least 10 more majors, and already have 10 wc, saying that though, as he’s got older he has used a coach that helps with sports mentality, and it’s worked quite well, also the amount of genuine world class players now compared to then is different, Ronnie is maybe the most obvious goat of any sport in history.

He will always be the best there ever was it’s taken Ronnie over 30 years to reach Hendry’s record he set in just 10 years. And there were fewer tournaments back then. It’s exhausting watching Ronnie trying to better Hendry’s record

Hendrys era was weak, 32/36 titles by 1999 as soon as better players came along and others into their peak he struggled to win anything

Also the fact you named john higgins and mark williams as how hendrys era was harder is hilarious considering they have literally played against ronnie his entire career and are still top 16 ranked players today. Mark selby, robertson, trump, this era of snooker players are hitting maximums, centuries, etc at an alarming rate compared to most of the 90s thats just facts

I think Hendry was a better player prime v prime but the longevity of Ronnie makes him the best ever. Just my opinion of course. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I meet Stephen Henry when he was just getting noticed.. a young man who is very talented and driven.. he’s also a great ambassador and I prefer to listen to him been a commentator than anyone else.. he doesn’t mix his words he speaks as he sees it 🙏

Hendrys last triple crown win (18) came at the age of 29 in 1999 while Ronnie just won his 22nd at the age of almost 48, yet their professional careers have lasted almost the same 27 years for Hendry 30 for Ronnie

O'Sullivan has the longevity of course but I've never known anyone to have dominated a whole decade like hendry did.....his first title was in 1990 and Last was in 1999.....7 in that short period of time will never be eclipsed

Stephen is the GOAT. Ronnie is there because of his longevity. Stephens tournaments played Vs won ratio would be much much higher than Ronnie's. Just like a football strikers goals/games ratio. Ronnie is amazing, his talent is undeniable, and to keep the standard he plays at at his age is incredible. In footy terms, who is best A striker that scores 30 goals a season for ten years, ending with a tally of 300 goals. Or A striker that scores 16 goals a season for 24 years, ending with a tally of 384 goals.

This is fucking unbelievable … at Junior & Secondary school I hand a really good friend, Will, he was phenomenal at snooker for our age, his parents bought him an 8x4 table for their spare room and he just practiced all day long, at weekends he went to a local snooker/pool hall and played on the 12x6 tables & then shot some American pool with the adults to win a couple of bottles of Coca - Cola or Pepsi & packets of crisps. We used to watch Hendry, White, O’Sullivan, Williams, Drago et al … later at college and in my 20’s a mate of a mate used to run for the county & he’d do early morning runs from Peace haven along the seafront to Hove and encounter O’Sullivan running along the seafront in Brighton 0430+ … these men were idols to us, here 25+ years later and the Rocket is still playing at the highest levels and Stephen is admitting to be past his best by a mile …

Nonsense … Hendry is honest as they come and shot up in my estimation since he started doing interviews and social media. I used to quite dislike Hendry, but now I just admire hos straight, fair talking. He openly says that Ronnie is the greatest. His game is shot now, but when he played free flowing natural snooker he was the greatest

It's interesting that Ronnie unlike Hendry and Davis has a healthy diet and he exercises a lot, that contributes to longevity. Hendry eats whatever he want's doesn't exercise and wonders why is he getting out of shape🙄

He said his game is shot. Why is that. Hes not old, it doesn't really take physical fitness, athleticism or strength.

He is goat because although he has won 7 world titles like henry, he has won uk and masters championships more than Henry, and other his records are better. But the reason Ronnie's the undisputed Goat is because he has beaten 4 different generations whereas Henry only won everything for a short period time against very average oppositions apart from jimmy white.

HoW can you say Hendry's opposition is average?? They were world champions. Ebdon, Davis, parrot, Higgins, Docherty, and some brilliant players too. Sadly white came runner up each time but it was certainly not average opposition.

Pra época eram fortes, pra hoje são fracos, assim como o Hendry. Murphy bateu muito no Hendry, Selby também. Ronnie é hegemônico sobre todos no um a um! Davis, Alex H., Jimmy e Ebdon e os outros são fracos perto da geração atual. Porque os fãs do escocês tentam tapar o sol com a peneira? Tá ficando feio viu !
