The world of graphic is becoming more and more animated. Brands and businesses are electing to move away from static imagery and designs, and are leaning more towards motion and animated options. This is most prevalent in advertising and social media, but extends out into most sectors of the graphic design industry. Good God I picked the worst year to get into Graphic Design. Its no longer enough to just learn Illustrator, Indesign or Photoshop I also have to pick up motion graphics, animations, video editing, photo editing, web design, coding, print, UX/UI. And im happy to learn most, but its so over whelming. Like i have to swim across an ocean just to find an island.

I am just now applying to new positions and most jobs are requiring either motion graphics, web design or UX/UI, which are 3 completely different things, apart from the "regular" graphic designer qualities. I feel like all are very important but a person has only so much time ... at this point i don't know if i should focus on applying for jobs and doing their tasks or start learning new skills to improve...
I actually enjoy using after effects more than illustrator so that’s good news for me 😅😅

Agreed! Motion graphics are getting increasingly popular, but they're not required. Skill-wise, I don't think you have to be an expert, nor mid-level. Just knowing the basics should be enough nowadays to put you miles ahead.
Awesome, totally agree this will be the next progression in OOH media more and more!
