Yes agreed. Regardless of who plays longer in their career or scores the most goals, Messi has kept his composure during his career, unlike Ronny who held Man Utd and Portugal to ransom, to such an extent they both severed ties with him.

Bastian Schweinsteiger said on the german broadcast that even when overlooking the pitch from the commentators booth he didn't see that pass. I believe in the slow mo replay he said that even now he is struggling to see that pass. He was baffled. Schweinsteiger wasn't a bad passer himself lol.

There should always be competitor in sport , money , marketing , narrative and overall atmosphere demands it . We all know ronaldo is not even close to messi in terms of sheer ability , this Wc is perfect demonstration of it but he is only one who could take up role of competitor and challenger which , by the way , he fulfilled well but in the end there is nothing hidden that wont come into light and this debate is getting ridiculously one sided day by day, if messi wins it he will dethrone maradona Let alone ronaldo who never was on par with him.

@@franalytics5995aging works in favor of messi, because messi has far wider range of skillsets then ronaldo , he can still influence games even without speed and physicality he once had thanks to his superior vision and passing ability + far far far superior ball retention compared to ronaldo ,yesterdays match was perfect illustration of it. Ronaldo was always very linear and one sided inhis game compared to messi . he depends on fast acceleration and physicality to get into space and utilise chance team creates for him. messi at age of 36 has 4 goals and 2 assists(should have more assists if lautaro could actually score open goal chances ) in wc , is undisputed superstar in his team which ,thanks to him, is now in semi final. idk, what more 36 year old lionel messi should do ... i understand its leo messi and we always expect more and more from him,but cmon, give guy a break..

It’s really hard to explain Messi’s ability to make space, and use space without just watching him. At 35 he is better than everyone on a pitch at all times, I don’t know how to describe it. He has lessen the pace and speed he once had from the last 12 years, he lost the ability to ‘Ankara Messi’ the whole team back in 2021. But he can still feint fast players and defenders to create that space. Like seriously you cannot put stats on what he does, you can’t put stats on him being able to hear his teammate or see his teammate in had a millisecond to then pass the ball through a defenders leg. Idk, you seriously just have to watch a full game of Messi, you can’t describe to a person unless they’ve watched him from an unbiased perspective. Or you could make someone who has never watched football watch some regular games maybe even Liverpool vs. Man city and then have them watch a game with Messi, and you can just see the difference in talent. It’s crazy
