If choosing a vice presidential candidate mattered, Biden would never have done as well as he has.

Why is it all about the persons and not about the political views of the parties? I would chose on the politics of a party regardless of their frontrunner. And here you have only two choices.

As another option - What about Wes Moore ??? I think he could crush Trump . Check him out . He is impressive and has the “it factor “ that could attract all different groups in a condensed amount of time to run .

Here's an idea: what if Biden stays but picks another running mate? Another way to solve the issue of access to the campaign funds. I believe Harris is one of the reasons Biden has been polling so low, even before the debate debacle. With his age, people always have the VP in the back of their mind. If he switched her for a more charismatic and exciting VP that could rally Indeps and moderate Republicans, people would be voting not just for him but for his succession. I was baffled when, in 2020---after promising that he'd be a one-term president to quiet concerns (already at the time) about his age---he then picked Harris, one of the least popular primary candidates among so many great ones! Her campaign died before the voting even started, she ended up in 17th position out of 29 and her popular vote count never even got to 4-digits!

I believe Kamala is dead woman walking. Calling Pres Trump “the evil Cheeto” isn’t the type of campaign that will sway me, as an independent to vote against Trump. I’m very conflicted because life was easier for me when Trump was president. Things were a lot less expensive. I’m on a Social Security and make about 1200 a month. When Trump was president I was able to make it the entire month. Since Biden has become president, I run out of money a week to 10 days before the end of the month. I eat a lot more Ramen noodles than I did, when Trump was president. Other than that, I differ with both parties on certain issues. Some issues I like the Republican stance and other issues I like the Democrats stance. I am not a voter that goes into a booth and check all the DS or all the Rs. To me it’s extremely important who they pick. Harris will be an automatic vote for me.

I was in the other room and I thought she was talking to children in kindergarten. There’s this country in Europe, called the Ukraine. There’s another country in Europe, called Russia. Russia decided they wanted to take Ukraine so they sent troops in to start a war! That is literally how she was describing this to a group of adults! SMH could sum up her candidacy with one word. Cringe! The White House to the Republicans, Kamala Harris as president! Probably handover the house in the Senate at the same time. No independent or Democrat is going to be excited to go vote for Kamala Harris 2024! I’m an independent, and I won’t have to think twice. I had never voted for Trump, but if it’s Biden or Harris, I most definitely will this year.

I think you give men too much credit when you are counting every vote with a very thin margin if you want to put two women on the ticket. I think there's enough males that feel threatened by two females that you will lose a good number of votes from them.

Well, trump is a real champ. What about infrastructure week? His wishful thinking about COVID? Ingesting disinfectant and shining a light internally. That'll work.

Too much of society has become a Democrat shtshow.

This was inevitable and obvious a year ago during convention. You guys picked this candidate democratically and you need to stick with him.

black women should vote for Trump - democrats have had over 30 years and they are still harping on the same issues and nothing is solved. Harris is Jamaican and Indian not an African American. How long are we going to allow our children to die in the streets before we stop being loyal to the party that started the KKK and has James Carville as a prominent member? Time to try something different - we need JOBS and HOME OWNERSHIP - Not more propaganda. Democrats are pandering racists.

You are, Mr Halperin, a MASTER of understatement, and ENORMOUSLY charitable in this assessment. I hope that your family & friends understand & appreciate these characteristics! In my experience such 'caritas' is unusual in people of your profession.

I live in the Midwest and grew up in the rust belt. Whitmer is the only plausible candidate who could beat trump in this climate.

I cannot believe anybody would vote Democrat..what the hell have they done for you? Tell me. Name something!

The chips act, recovering from bushes wars & economic catastrophe, cut OUR taxes, a national health plan, health insurance for pre existing conditions, unemployment down to 3%, zero wars, killed bin Laden, lower crime rate than under Trump(FACT), strengthened the dollar, after 20yrs got us out of Afghanistan, green energy - look at the electric cars, plus we are now the #1 oil producer in the world. I gave you a list, now give me a list of what Republicans have done for you?

@@alexkamer8331 thank you for that. That being said (as a Democrat) unless we come up with another plan in a hurry, I think it's time to prepare ourselves for another four years of Trump. Having so many people on this panel, makes it obvious, there is a real concern about the presidents ability to lead for another four years.

From ABC's interview my take is that Biden thinks people are questioning his accomplishments. He doesn't get it. He, himself, said he did not go back and watch his debate performance. I don't think ANYONE can complain about his performance as president, but the guy that was president three years ago is not the same president today. Get out Joe.

Biden bows out gracefully. He becomes a sympathetic figure. Maybe the Harris/VP slogan could be "win it for Joe"

Lots of great analysis here. But let's remember that Biden didn't run in the primaries. His team made sure that there weren't primaries or at least that there weren't primary opponents. The primary season was just a coronation for him.

Trump under pressure is no icon. Put him under pressure!
