Will Jesus RAISE The CREMATED?! (Here's what the BIBLE SAYS)
In this video I’m answering the question;
Will Jesus raise the cremated?
Or another way of wording this is, what happens to those who were cremated at the resurrection of the second coming of Jesus Christ?
I’ll start off by saying that God has not given us any specific direction, revelation, or a direct command as to what happens to Christians who were cremated.
There is nothing in the bible to point to specifically to answer this question.
There are some verses we can point to for guidance, however, and this is also a topic I’ve discussed at great lengths within the Christian community before.
A verse I want to share with you is Genesis 3:19, which reads:
“....you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”
This verse is telling us that our physical bodies came from dust, and shall return to dust after death.
Whether that’s through cremation or just the general decomposition over time, it’s a clear message that it’s not the preservation of our physical bodies after death that matters.
After all, there are various things that can happen to bodies after death that are out of our control, too.
Another way I’ve heard this question answered before is simply that when
Jesus comes from heaven and metamorphosizes millions of bodies and works the miracle of resurrection, it’s hard to believe he doesn’t have the power to resurrect cremated bodies.
What happened after someone died according to the bible?
Cremation was practiced in biblical times, but it was not commonly practiced by the Israelites or New Testament believers.
In the culture of biblical times, burial was the most common way of resting a body after death.
Bodies were often laid to rest in tombs, as Jesus was buried, or in caves, and in the ground.
While burial was the most common practice, nowhere in the bible does is command burial as the only method of disposing of a body.
Do Christians believe in cremation?
Despite the bible not giving a command on whether or not we should cremate the dead, some Christians object to cremation.
They say that God will not be able to resurrect the body of someone who has been cremated and re-unite them with their souls and spirit.
I see some Christians pointing to 1 Corinthians 15:35-55 to make this point, which reads:
“It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.”
However, as I already touched on, whether a body has been cremated or not, it’s no more difficult for God to resurrect that body and re-unite it with its soul.
What I say is that Christians who died and were buried thousands of years ago will be more than dust at this point, so how is that any different than being cremated?
I’ll end by saying that the question of cremation or burial is within the realm of Christian freedom, it’s a choice a person should make with the blessing of their loved ones.

The idea that God wouldn’t raise cremated remains is absurd. If that were true, then that would mean ALL the millions of Christians throughout history who DIED in FIRES or explosions, or volcanic eruptions, etc would all be out of luck. Then imagine all the Christians since the beginning of time, who were killed and EATEN by bears, wolves, lions, sharks, crocodiles, etc. Those people didn’t even have ashes. They were digested and then eliminated as fecal waste. God knows us on a molecular level and every molecule will come back together with a single command of His voice.

With funerals being so expensive, some people don't have the money, and cremation is the affordable way of still showing respect for their loved ones.

Right! Be aware... recently a mortuary charged to have a body embalmed b4 cremation which is no way necessary. It's all about $$$ when it comes to burial nowadays. It's Ridiculous to cost $10,000 & above to dispose of a dead body. Huge money maker. It's bad for the earth & toxic to the environment to be putting all those chemicals in the ground. The most natural thing to do with a dead body is just put it in the ground. Just crazy to have to put it in a coffin after being embalmed. Why??? Bugs will get to it eventually anyway. Don't need that body anymore

We always buried our own, on our own land. Did you know they said that Ma and Pa is in the back? Meaning this is now sacred ground, your home stead would be considered a cemetery and they can't take your property.
I was determined to be buried as that’s been the beliefs of my family for generations. However, after reading comments and viewing the video, it reminded me when I was in the hospital and was nearing death. I remember being awake at 0200 and I sat up in my hospital bed and asked God to heal my body. The next morning, the doctor did one last blood test and where my blood test results showed no function of kidneys, my blood tests came back showing unexpected improvement and that continued. I have had full kidney functions as though nothing ever happened to me in the past. I thank God for keeping me on earth to spread his word and help others in many different ways. It is so rewarding and honored to know God loves me and decided to keep me on earth longer. That was when I was 53 and I just celebrated my 64th birthday two days ago. Thank you, Father.

Also, what about those who are buried at sea? I think God can resurrect even fish eaten bodies that are gone. Titanic comes to mind. Some of those people may have been Christians.

My cousin was killed in a wood chipping accident. He was a devout Christian. I'm so glad to have heard about this. His family and I have been worried he wouldn't go to heaven since he got sprayed all over the ground...
When my mother died, I searched for every scripture to know what happened after death. This comforted me, Ecclesiastes 12, especially verses 6 & 7. Our body is not our spirit. "Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Ecclesiastes 12:6 and 7 state that the spirit returns to God who gave it instantly..... Luke 16:26 states that Lazarus in the rich man are up in Paradise Lazarus is on the right side with Abraham in his bosom and with Jesus where the rich man is on the left side where the not so good people are who didn't make the cut and keep the Commandments of God and repent of their sins. My family were all lost in an explosion when their home blew up from a propane gas leak. I lost my father, an 8-year old niece and my grandmother. They were gone in an instant and left in ashes. My father and grandmother were born again believers and I know that baby girl was taken to glory as well. I will always believe this to my dying day when I myself will be cremated and will see them again in glory. Be blessed all of you today and every day....

Such a tragic loss. This is a good example I was going to make about cremation. Tragedies such as this happen and it's not a choice and doesn't mean we won't be Resurrected and be with Jesus. The life we choose when alive is what matters. We could also want in our will to be physically buried but somebody could choose to cremate you instead. We won't know that but it doesn't matter to Jesus Christ because he will resurrect us just the same.

I have witnessed the spirit be given a new body,this is how I believe the resurrection will be,the spirit will be given a new body by the power of GOD.
I wanted to thank you for posting this. My father just found out he has a matter of years to live and has chosen to be cremated. This has been weighing heavy on my heart. If he breaks the laws that make him who he is he would cease to be God. If Christ hadn't done the Atonement why would we worship him? The cremated just gets there quicker....does that mean that God can only raise the recently dead then ? No. Cremated or buried it really make no difference to God and the new bodies we get.

Our souls leave our bodies when we die so being cremated makes no difference at all when we go to our higher realm to meet with God as we are in spirit form.

It's OK cremation is best, I seen a program on crime once where they had to excum a body and they showed the police and forensic staff there they opened the coffin and stepped back so fast cause of the smell. Besides our flesh bodies are temporary they grow old and sick and decrepit and then expire they are only good while we walk on the earth.

Yes....but we do need to respect the body. Cremation IS fine...just keep the ashes all together. This new idea of passing ashes to family members or making jewelry out of them is WRONG!!! They can be spread also...just all at once, together.

Mom was cremated, I was calm at her funeral. She was a great Catholic. I miss my mom so much. She has been gone some time, about 10 years, but I do miss her.

My dad loved Jesus with his entire heart and spent more time with Jesus than anyone I ever knew. He was cremated. For someone to say that he would not be resurrected by the Lord is just absolutely ridiculous.

That is probably many people the just do not know it yet. We buried my dad the small little plot cost 5,000 the funeral cost 10,000. When my friend died, it cost her children 10,000 just to get her body to bury, they built the coffee and buried her on family land.

I remember arguing with my mother about my wanting to be an organ donor, and how she said she would never allow anyone to cut my body up. I tried to tell her that there is no harm to having organs removed that can extend or improve the lives of others, but she always said she would fight it tooth and nail. It's not an issue now, given that my mother has passed on. I'd like to believe that if I had passed before her, she would honor my wishes, despite her feelings about it.

I agree with you. I already prepaid $3,000. for my cremation compared to the $10,000. cheapest funeral offered, then there's the plot and headstone that was $1100. I think it doesn't matter to God one bit how this flesh is disposed of. Its our soul that's goin to heaven and He's going to give us a new body.

There's millions & millions of people who been cremated or burned to death since the beginning of time. Caves & cemetery plots were used by the rich. Only God has the power & knows if he's going to raise us from our ashes after we been cremated, burned & our ashes been scattered on the earth or sea. In my own humble opinion as a spiritual soul, our bodies are only the vessels which carry our souls around in while we are here on earth. So when our bodies expire, our souls are immediately escorted to the spiritual realm, by angels and our loved ones souls who have gone before us. I am appalled sometimes at all the questioning of God's word. The creator of all things can do anything anytime. I heard arguments about the thief on the Cross. Jesus said " today you will be with me in Paradise." I heard well he didn't really mean that he meant that after judgement day he would be there. No Jesus said "today" and he meant today.

My Wife and I have made the decision for cremation. Her Dad was an Ordained Baptist Minister and her Mom worked in the church with him for nearly 50 years. It was their decision to be cremated also. Their decision put me totally at ease with cremation. After all, you can't cremate the soul. I am not trying to get anyone to agree with me or do as I do. This is a personal decision for all to make.

Nowadays only the wealthy can afford a full funeral with a casket and all. My wife of 50 years discussed it many times through the years and we were against the idea for a long time but when we considered the question of the martyrs burned at the stake she said from her death bed, “burn me”. I cremated her per her request and her ashes are in a pretty blue vase on the book shelf by our bed.

My brother Ross had told our mom a few weeks before he died that he wanted his body to be cremated. The passage of scripture that states "where their worms die not" made Ross not want to have his body in the ground. I appreciate this video ....
I used to pray with my children every night, and once I was talking about the return of Christ. I said that Jesus would raise the dead from both land and those who died at sea. My son raised his little finger upwards and said "Daddy, don't forget those who died on the beach!"

I think we are living spirits to eternity. The body houses our spirits until it is no longer required after our death. It then returns to dust when we die. 'Ashes to ashes dust to dust' says it all very clearly.
Thank you so much! I chose cremation to afford covering the costs so my children are not burdened with them. I just had always thought Christians only did burial. But as I thought of people burned in fires or drowned at sea/in lakes or rivers, I thought as you explain. We are going to have new glorified bodies @ the resurrection/rapture. We are not able to get to grave sites anymore as they are far away and we are unable to get there. I don't worship a tombstone / nor a dead body. I am going to leave a framed picture with a "tomb stone plaque" on the base of it for each family member: daughters & grandchildren. I also hope to soon compile a family Heritage Legacy that will praise God for His presence in our lives lived and that we will meet again in glory with God for eternity! Shalom! (Numbers 6:24-26)

I am a crematory operator and I approve this message, God has infinite power and is not limited to anything. Most families nowadays can't afford burial, between the funeral home and the cemetery costs you are looking at a minimum of 15 grand.

Shriners are 33rd degree Freemasons. In order to become a Shriner you must swear an oath to the beast of the sea from Revelation 13, his name is Allah or Ballah. In Hebrew his name is Alah which means a curse or plague. If you swear an allegiance to Allah and you are a Christian you lost your salvation. Read Hebrews 6 very carefully, a person can be "plucked out of God's hand". How many Christian became Muslim during Islam's conquests of the Mideast? Once they swear an oath to Allah after giving their hearts to Christ they can never return to Christ, you get one chance Al salvation.

Wrong. No unclean thing can enter into God's kingdom. A born again Christian sins often and becomes unclean. Simply believing and going through the motions will not win you eternal life with God. Faith without works is dead.

It is true that nothing can pluck you from God's hand. However, it is also true that God doesn't hold you hostage if you want to leave his hand. He gives us free will. That doesn't change when we give our lives to Christ, we still have our freewill. In other words, we can choose to live for God's kingdom or we can choose to live in the world (or live for what pleases our flesh). In the book of Psalms 69:28, David talks about names being blotted out of the Book of Life. Jesus said in Revelation 3:5 that those who conquer will never have their name blotted out of the Book of Life. The conquering Jesus is talking about is overcoming the flesh and living like God wants us to, not living like the world.

@@silkwoodart Think long and hard about this. You're basically telling us you don't believe Jesus died for your sins, without saying it. If you understand the Gospel, you try to live a life acceptable to a Christian because you understand that Jesus paid for every sin you did. Or do. So when you sin you're causing suffering to Jesus. But you don't lose your salvation when you're sealed with the Holy Spirit. In one way or another you'll fall short of the Glory of God if you trust yourself instead of trusting on Jesus.

Thank you for this very enlightening video. Since I was a child, it was the custom to bury the dead in the ground. Now, the church allows cremation, so many are choosing that option. Either way, I believe, God will raise everyone as he said.
My sister passed away last December. Her body was tired. She had many illness and copd. She was cremated so her daughter could have an urn as a memorial. I pray she is at peace. Miss her everyday. I think God can do all things!❤💔

Yes God can do all things, and when your sister rises to be with her king she will be completely healed with none of the earthly diseases. That is what I find so amazing from our God, that people will never know suffering ever again.

With as much respect as I can manage show you, is it a possibility that you might can learn more and is it a possibility that Maybe God gave us 2 eyes and 2 Ears but 1 mouth have you noticed that we have to have our mouth to eat, we could do without 1 of our ears or 1 of our eyes. If you took both of either ears or eyes it would be just unimaginable awful, I think people including myself right now take that for granted

The Bible does not say anywhere our souls/spirits are eternal. There is only one eternal and that's God. Even when we are in heaven, or the new earth, we must eat and drink from the Tree/River of Life. God sustains our bodies, but we are NOT immortal and never was created to be such outside of the power of God.

@veravaughan5876 the Bible says, God blew into man the breath of life and man became a living soul. So, it is not the body but a combination of the body and the ability to breathe. Together then we are conscious and we think, reason. Without the breath we are dead.
