What happens during cremation
In this video we walk you through the process of cremation in an Australian crematorium. Simple, efficient and cost effective, cremation has become far more popular than burial in recent years, but many people still don't know what it entails.

I lost my Grandfather in September. That guy gave me many of my “firsts” in life. I would always sleepover every weekend at my Grandparent’s. I felt like I was his child also. We always went out, always went on adventures. Everyday I wake up shocked that no matter what, he’s not coming back.
My mom was cremated. This made me cry. I miss and love you so much mom. 😢

I have watched the cremation process in videos before. My 20 year old daughter passed away in 2016. Direct cremation was all I could afford to do. I watched videos to research how it was done while waiting for her cremains to be ready for pick up. I don't know why, but this video made me cry. This video was very thoughtfully and respectfully made. I suppose it made me rehash those emotions from those years ago. I appreciate this channel, and the wealth of information.

This body is just like a car, and the driver has already switched vehicles to start another beautiful journey, full of new experiences and joy.This old, beat-up car needs to be recycled and mixed with other materials of this world. It does not matter how you go back to the elements. Please know that, Soul is neither born nor dies, neither is created or can be destroyed. Our soul is a part of the creator, and we hold a piece of the almighty within us, and when we switch the vehicles, we follow the natural order of things and go back to the creator. Grief is the immense love you were yet to give to your loved ones.

Such a gift to your family to preplan & prepay. They will be able to grieve your loss and not have as many decisions to make when you pass.
2 things I took away from this: 1) When raking out the remains, it looks like you're going to end up with a little dust from the person cremated before. 2) Speaking of dust, if I worked there I'd be inclined to wear a dust mask. Inhaling dust from human remains is not at the top of my list of must dos.

Hi Dave, thank you for your comments. Tim does wear full PPE when operating the cremator. While we were filming Tim was not working the machine another employee was doing the job, he was only stepping in during the filming and didn't wear a mask so he could talk to us during the filming and it was cut for editing. Thank you for your concern but Tim was very aware of his exposure and we spent limited time in that area. Take care 😊💚

I come from a family of carers. We all have different roles, Nursing, Disability care, Palliative care, and Foster Care. I also am a foster carer with a career in entertainment yet felt I needed more. There is something about the ability to bring dignity to the end-of-life process and help those in their time of grief that drew me to my next path in life. I applied for a position at a funeral home yesterday and was asked to join the team today. I started watching your videos yesterday (I have 2 years of catching up to do!) and I respect the way you normalize the end-of-life process, it really is beautiful. Dispelling fear with respect, dignity, and care is inspirational. I thank you both for your time and dedication to these insights, it’s not a position many people tend to gravitate to, what you are doing makes it comfortable.

My Mom is going to be cremated tomorrow morning. I wanted to be by her side one last time as she is cremated, but travel is complicated for me (she is across the country). I needed to understand the process so that as I take quiet time while she is being cremated I know what is happening. Why do I need to know? I'm heartbroken and it honestly wasn't comforting (not that I expected it to be). It was sensitive of you that you didn't show the box going into the incinerator, so thank you for that. My heart and mind are silently screaming their grief, knowing what my Mom was is going to be reduced to tomorrow. Thank you for the video, though. Having thought about it, I think I needed to see it to push one step further toward acceptance. And you're a part of that. ❤

My mom and my brother were both cremated. They are with me always in beautiful cremation wooden boxes. By mom's has her gardening gloves on it, my brother's has a motorcyle on it. Beautiful pieces of artwork. Much cheaper than a burial, no upkeep needed, and it was at their request. When it's my time to go, I have it specified in my will to also be cremated. We had memorial services for both. Feel really bad that my dad chose burial instead. It's simply gross to me to think about being buried.

When I die my children can decide where they want to place mine and my sons ashes (together). My daughter wants to place us in an hour glass so that we may still be at the table on family game nights. I will never regret having my son cremated. To any parent who has lost a child.. This is just scary to think of, you’re just suddenly dead and suddenly within an hour or so, all of your body is gone except for your bones. In my opinion, cremations may be cheap and good for the environment but I’d rather do burials, like seriously I don’t want to be turned into ashes with my skin, hair,skull, and eyes all melted and vaporised and gone! Without a trace.

I'll never forget the loud smack/thud my great-grandpa's cremains made as they hit the ground when we attempted to "spread" him in a place he'd already pre-chosen. None of us had ever dealt with cremains before and thought it was going to be ashy dust like what you see in the movies. Nope, it was not anything like you see in the movies but, despite being initially mortifying, we all started laughing because he would have laughed so hard at the way we'd all jumped back and gasped. It was definitely a learning experience, that's for sure. He really would have gotten a kick out of how freaked out we all were, though!

That would have been unsettling. 🤦🏻♀️- if you watch our vid on scattering the ashes, it doesnt always happen with a thud. 💚
Oh! Never knew about the cremulator. You see so often in movies that a box goes in and perfect dust comes out and I just accepted it without thinking, lol.

Hey girlie I’m currently in school to become a mortician and I recently heard that many people working with formaldehyde end up with health issues and that the risks of getting cancer is quite high. Im very passionate about the funeral industry but hearing this made me slightly hesitant. I was curious to know if this is something Tracy thinks about in her career and if there are ways to safely navigate formaldehyde or if there will always be health risks involved? Love y’all xoxo

That would depend on how your local crematorium operates. If you asked the question it might be possible.
Yep, my dad was cremated many years ago but the crematorium was more than 60 years old, and it took almost 5 hours to cremate his 125 pound body.

I know this isnt as drastic as a parent or child dying, as some other comments have said, but my dog died 10 days ago. He was a beautiful all white alaskan husky with one blue eye and one brown and always a big ol goofy smile on his face. We got his ashes back today and its been a very emotional day for me. He was such a pain in the neck with how he was always jumping over the fence and running around the neighborhood or chilling in the neighbors yard, but i loved him to bits. May god rest your soul Fabian, i miss you so much and love your forever 🤍

Hello ladies love your videos im watching from oklahoma im curious to know if embalming is done the same on an organ donor as one thats not a donor
@Areyoudyingtoknow
Жыл бұрын
Hi Rhonda, yes embalming can still be done on a deceased that had donated organs. It will be what we call a 6 point embalming process. This means we will raise arteries in 6 different locations on the body for injection and a lot of hypodermic work will be done all so. Thank you for your question take care out in Oklahoma 😊💚💚
This was certainly hard to watch because I lost my dad in August and I’m about to lose my mom. I guess it’s just life. No one can live forever. And I would much rather have ashes than having them lay a box under ground.

Hello ladies. Over here in Northern Ireland, traditional coffin burial is by far the most popular method of 'corpse disposal', sadly though, I feel it's not for me. My late Dad and Mum, who's 83 years old have/will opt for burial in our local cemetery. I have plumped for cremation, with my remains to be interred in the family plot. I don't know WHY but burial just freaks my mind.....BURN ME! 🥰🥰🤗👍👍👍

Hi, no you don't need to embalm to be cremated. In fact here in Australia we don't embalm most of the deceased we care for. Embalming is done if family request, a person is going home for a few days, going into an above ground vaults, repatriated to another country or cultural reasons. Silly question, why doesn't the cremator wear a mask.? Any job I'm on which involves any kind of dust requires a mask for OHS reasons. Over the years he would have dust and debris building up in his lungs causing damage.

This is neat. I grew up in India and then moved to the States. When I was around 10 years old, a family of four in our village died in an accident and were all cremated side by side. When the fire was lit, we left the scene, leaving only a few people to ensure everything burned properly. I was still able to watch from a distance through the thick smoke.

Thank you for your sentiments. I'm nearly 70. When I was born most Americans were given casket funerals, even if they were poor. They were then buried in family plots in cemeteries, sometimes with several generations. If you were Catholic you went on All Saints Day to visit them and place flowers. It was nice for young people to be surrounded by their ancestors and appreciate the multi generational aspect of family and community. Material considerations like cost or the environment are poor arguments to make against what most of the world's people have been doing for millenia, usually within the context of religious belief. After all, even primitive people buried their dead. PS I know funerals are expensive; they always have been. That's why responsible people prepare for them. If you can put a 25k balance on your credit cards or spend that much on a car, you can find a way to finance a loved one's funeral. It's no "waste of money." It's someone's eternal resting place.
@Areyoudyingtoknow
9 ай бұрын
Yes it's very expensive in America. I am very lucky to be working for a small family business here in Australia and the costs are so much cheaper and we definitely follow family requests. And been a small business the owner is often so very generous to family struggling with cost. The big corporations have set fees. Take care.
