It’s always amazing to me how many people tell you they drove it to the spot you picked it up at. But when you get it in the shop, everything’s broken that must be very frustrating. Anyway, keep up the great work you’re an inspiration.

The one I really like or love whichever you want to put is the fact those old cars coming back to life is extremely awesome in my book. I really love watching this episode because of that old 57 Chevy got brought back from its graveyard. Very awesome job getting her running again and seeing her move on her own power. Thank my friends for sharing this.

It's so nice watching you guys fixing things together and I love seeing your videos . The only thing is , I'm always left with a longing to see these old cars done right up and looking good as well as starting and driving . That car right there is going to look stunning when it's finished and I would have loved to see it out for a proper drive looking like it did back in it's days of glory .

Hello. Great videos. Just some tri5 info. The bowtie emblem on the trunk is 6 cyl. With a silver V is 265. With a gold V is 283. Your eng has a 327 valve cover on the passenger side. Driver side looks original. The 4 barrel carb is a step up from the standard 2 barrel. Horsepower: 220bhp @ 4,600 rpm (single four-barrel), 270bhp @ 6000 rpm (dual four-barrel), 283bhp @ 6,200 RPM (fuel-injected). Best wishes.

The gold and silver has nothing to do with 265/283 designation. 265 engines were only available (as a carry over from ‘56) for a short while in ‘57, then all v8 cars the remainder of the model year got a 283 after that. The gold vs silver was a designation for Bel Air Model vs 210 Model.

Back in the 70s when you bought a set of points for a Chevy they came with a small Allen wrench you set the points to 18 then you put the cap on it and open the little slide door in the front of the distributor start the car and you can reach that Allen wrench in through that little door and give the points a final adjustment with the car running.

They make a tool just for adjusting GM points. A screwdriver handle with a long flexible shaft with the right size Allen wrench on the end of the shaft. Set the points with a feeler gauge. .018 new, .016 used. Once you get it running you slide the metal door on the cap up, put the tool in the points, hook up a dwell meter and set the points to the proper dwell angle. They also come as a kit with adapters to adjust carbs too.

I always knew those GM distributors as the "peekaboo" distributor. Don't know if that was the formal name or not, or just got that name because you peeked through metal door. We called that the barn door. The other nice thing is you didn't have to crank the engine to get the follower on the points arm on top of one of the distributor shaft lobes, or hand crank the fan to get to a lobe. I was always a MOPAR guy so had to wrestle with all this. And by the way, I've still got a dwell meter in my old tool chest, so you can tell I'm an old gray-haired guy.

points adjustment was by a flexible hex driver that you could rotate to open/close point gap, and use a dwell meter while doing it (if you have a running engine) worked on those 283 Chevy engines in my teenage years. The struggle is real, Ford had the distributor in the front of the engine where it was easy to reach points, but Chevy had a 'better' idea...

I believe this was originally a 210 hardtop sedan with Bel Air trin added to it. The steering wheel center and no gold faux triple "vents" on the front fender give that away. I'm not sure if the interior has been swapped too. I would return back to its cowl tag origins. A 210 in this configuration is far less seen than the Bel Air.

Once again you demonstrate your over- the- top smarts and ability to improvise and "work around" what most people would say was impossible. Great! P.S. Do you think you could find be an ole Deuce Coupe? Best, Peg from NEW Jersey

$1900?!? My dad picked a similar one up for $500 twenty years ago, but $1900 for a complete '57 Bel Air is an absolute theft in today's market, especially with a good title. You guys scored.

fabiohaddad, Yes sir super classic & also somewhat rare, the 4 door 210 or 150 post is ok...but the 4 door hard top is next to the 2 door hard top in my books.

@@marvinalancornell8275 Cool very good, I don't know that many details. I like the lines of the 1956/7, the 1958 has the coolest front with 4 headlights, but anyway a Chevy timeless model.

You guyz could use a Carburetor / Distributor Adjustment Tool. They are cheap and a must for adjustable dwell points.
