You brought back memories of my CJ5 FROM 1985. WHAT A FUN VEHICLE.

Congratulating you again on finding this fully restorable CJ5 . I agree , those seats just aren’t right for that era jeep and aren’t as user friendly as the original configuration . I wish I could use the same style seats as my 1973 cj5 has in my 1980 . The floors aren’t the same so mounting would involve modification which I’m not willing to do to original hard to get parts . The lower profile seats are just more comfortable and ergonomic to the earlier Jeep body . I will say , that haul of jeep parts is a jeep lovers dream ! That’s TWO major scores for you ! You are absolutely moving right along on this project and it is getting places real quickly . Besides the obvious surface rust , the chassis looked from our view to be intact and pretty solid . My 1973 is going to need rear chassis work and had me wishing it’s chassis looked as good as yours . I appreciate that you want to retain originality . That is also my aim as well . Although I do like my 1980 , I really appreciate my 1973 . It’s just a no frills all business jeep , just as your Jeep is . Absolutely looking forward to your next video !

WOW! I am happy to see another Jeep rescued from the rust pile! Thank goodness you guys found this diamond in the rough! Your restoration of this endangered species is so important for the preservation of the old Jeeps!

After seeing your first video on this I got the bug again and went out and got a 1955 jeep cj5! You will have a lot of fun with this old jeep 👍🏼

We like all the “old Jeep rebuild” videos.✅ Came here for that, you lucked out big time on that gas tank being usable, 1st one we seen of that.👍 We just did the rear brake lines & pads, cylinders on or 97 TJ in the spring of this year… Fun out on the grass instead of a nice shop.!!

Good job getting it going again! I couldn't tell by zooming in, but if that STP gear oil is GL-5, you might have some problems with shifting. The t90 seems sensitive to fluid, and GL-4 works a lot better despite gl-5 being "compatible" with yellow metals. I've had my 1957 CJ-5 for 25 years now, and I'll never get rid of it. It's the most fun for dollar vehicle you can own!

Great stuff!!!!

Think about replacing those rubber brake lines. They look good on the outside but swell and deteriorate on the inside causing less than stellar brake performance. You are repairing most things that folks just give up on and park the Jeep. Thanks for the fun.

I have a 1960 jeep that was a military jeep. Surprisingly good shape. It has a 4 banger hooked to a 4 speed hooked to a Spicer transfer. It ran good until my dad passed away. We were in process of restoring it. Took body off and then he was going to convert 24v system to 12v. But that's when I lost my dad. I know nothing about this 24v waterproof system and was wondering if you knew of an engine and transmission out of another vehicle that would bolt to my transfer case with out any problems except for of course engine mounts and stuff like that?
