Its interesting how he only showed witherspoons good plays especially not showing the Lions game where he gave up a flea flicker td. Do you know the one stat everyone is overlooking compared to his other dominant stats? He gave up 4 touchdowns. Something that PFF apparently doesn’t consider an important metric. He had a great year in terms of yards per reception. But compare his tds allowed to other CBs with similar snap rates and he was among the worst. So I am guessing he was pretty bad on the goalline. Prob a mistake from def coordinator as well to put a rookie on an island.

At the start of the game in week 4 the hawks had Jamal adams as their slot/lb in their base defense. I believe it was his first game back after his torn quad the year before. Adams was flying around the field. During one of the first offensive drives for the Giants, Daniel Jones kneed Adams in head and suffered a concussion. Pete said Adams was gonna be a big part of the gameplan on defense. The next snap, Spoon was in at slot to try and fill a somewhat similar role. Man did he ever fill that role.

The 1 thing that I love about both Coach Mac & OC Ryan Grubb is their ability to put players in positions for success! Both are literally Geniuses at their craft…MacDonold is the master at disguising schemes, so the offense has no idea what the defense is doing! I expect Coach Mac to turn this bottom of the league defense into a top 10-15 overall defense in his first year! Seattle’s so loaded offensively, that they should be able to drop 30 vs anyone. When talking about Grubbs innovative offense, Geno said it best “I’ve been in the league for a long time and I’ve never seen these types of plays before!” It’s going to be weird not seeing Pete on the sidelines, throwing the football, wearing those Nike Monarchs, chewing gum and oozing positivity! Pete’s the best Coach in Seahawks history, no doubt! He brought us our 1st Lombard trophy 🏆 and it should’ve been back to back Championships, but we all know what happened. Everyone wanted to blame someone, and Pete was fine talking ALL THE CRITICISM…That’s because Pete’s a legend! Even though people that know football, know that it was Russell’s fault! Because NE loaded the box, Seattle called for a quick slant pass. If the WR’er wasn’t open, Russell was supposed to throw it out of bounds and we’d still have 2 downs for Beastmode to rush into the end zone! SMH 🤦 TEN out of his 14 season’s he took Seattle to the playoffs! He’s only the 3rd HC in history to win a College Championship and an NFL CHAMPIONSHIP! He should be a 1st ballot HOF Coach! Lastly, a lot of Hawk fans are saying that MacDonold is going to take them to the Super Bowl in his first season ever as a HC. Our OC, Ryan Grubb has never coached in the NFL. I’m not expecting much this season, but if they can win more than 7-8 games this season? I’ll call it a success! Next year is when I see Seattle being a dominant team both offensively & defensively! If “Yosemite Sam” can become our next franchise QB? Seattle’s going to dominate the NFC West for years to come! #LFG #GoHawks #12’s

Appreciate this. I loved Spoon in the draft, always did, still do. I just felt the trenches need too much help at draft time. BUT NOW! Coach Mike, I suspect, will use Spoon in amazing ways. Teams will not know what is coming, QB's will be confused.

I wonder if Jamal Adams (if healthy) wouldn’t be a good match for MM’s defense as well. Many fans are down on him, but if he’s got gas in the tank, he’s another wildcard player. The change of leadership could give him new life. Of course the health question could undermine him completely, so who knows.
