I agree that JSN can be a special receiver in this league. The chemistry with Geno wasn't fully there plus he had some rookie hiccups and injuries, but I'm expecting big things next season with a full training camp. About JSN's speed, his straight line speed might not be spectacular but his three-cone was record breaking. Elite shiftiness is what enables him to get separation and make those screen plays.

Yo Mankey (Half Man Half Monkey) you stated about his future being possibly affects by opportunities and/or staying healthy BUT you failed to equate his "slow start" of his rookie season WITHOUT MENTIONING HIS BROKEN wrist suffered during pre-season activities and having surguery to correct the breakage. Sham on you. Imagine what his future is going to be for him to come back from this injury earlier than expected for his future recovery ability. JSN will own many receiving records when his career ends. Just sayin'

I hope the rams can sign him lol our secondary is full of vets and old dogs and he would fit right in to go along with a young defensive line. I like those odds

youre right when you say jsn almost always gets incredible yards in just a bit of open space. The difference I see between him and other guys is theres no delay between catching ball - scanning field - taking off. He has no hesitation in the open field even when putting on a move and that really screws with defenders especially because they know how shifty he can be on a dime.

Thanks so much for this video. I love the idea of a lions playlist and love the length of this video. I really appreciate your "teacher" approach. I've learned so much about the modern game of football due to your content. Not just your Lions content, but also your Ravens coverage as well. Thanks for your hard work! I hope you realize your dream and can do this full-time 😊. One pride! Let's go Lions!

I'm not really seeing any selling in his breaks. Good release package, great hands/transition to yac, and great body control, but he seems weak at manipulating defenders. I see a solid reliable receiving option, not the star many wanted him to be. That can change, I just want to see signs of development.

  • @staceyvandiver

Safeties fell in this draft all together, He also worked out with the CB during the combine and had the slowest time of all CBs. But he was in the top of safeties in combine measurements. Most GMs didn't know where he would play and was he a product of Sabans defense and stacked roster at Alabama. To sum it up GMs over thought it all. He only missed 3 tackles his whole career. He split time at star with Malachi Moore they alternated every series for 3 years in a row 2 5 star safeties duking it out so it limited his perception on tape.

@staceyvandiver id have to agree with GMs overthinking it all. You watch his college tape, and dude is a straight dog. Sure, he ran a little slow at the combine, but all the tape shows he has no problems playing the game. Thanks for the response!

The fact that he can stop the run, and cover passes along with someone like Arnold means the future of our secondary is going to be absolutely disgusting. The crazy thing overall about this defense is that our LB core is starting to look like the weakest part of it. That’s a good problem to have, given how they’re actually developing well and have someone like Anzalone

B.B. is no doubt a stud but believe it or not there is a significant number of Lions fan who think he’s average at best. BTW, your play selection tape is stellar. Boundary, field, safety, nickel, Free safety, man, Zone, Run, open field, in the box, blitz, you have them all. Perfect as always.

Another EXCELLENT video Coach about an historically Elite Athlete in Honolulu Blue and silver. Despite his lack of speed it is fair comment to compare St. Brown to Jerry Rice; having also that special connection Rice had with QBs Joe Montana and Steve Young -- the Goff to St. Brown connection is HISTORICALLY special in NFL terms. Name an era: Bradshaw to Swan; Trakenton to Rashad; Staubach to Tate and the list goes on. And as to the stated Coach, St. Brown is potentially this generation's future HOF talent and comparisons with Rice are REALISTIC without hyperbolic exaggeration. As both a back out of the backfield as well as a receiver St. Brown easily stacks up with Roger Craig from those same Jerry Rice SF days. IF the Lions asked it of St. Brown he could EASILY be a 1000 yard back and 1000 yard receiver ATHLETICALLY SPEAKING; also given Amon Ra's NFL IQ and outright tenacity! Yet his role in AC Ben Johnson's offense is much more clearly defined with many unique twists, correct? The RB room does not need St. Brown yet welcomes him for special plays nonetheless! As a blocker St. Brown is in "the best possible sense" -- Freakishly Unique! Has there ever been an NFL receiver like him? No NOT ONCE. #CantonizeStBrown #OnePride #OurManMontgomery #GoLions #DanTheManCampbell

I am often confused why people say Branch is a safety who had to play slot CB. We had an opening at safety practically the whole year when CJGJ tore his pec. We also arguably had better slot corner depth than safety depth with the possibility of CJGJ playing the slot and Branch at safety. It tells me a lot that Branch played in the slot all year.

And people think Bijan is better 😂 he ain't got this in his game. Gibbs is gonna go OFF this year. I'm expecting close to 2k total yards and 20ish TD's. Dude just barely scratched the surface last year. Thank you for shunning convention Brad and taking this monster. Can't wait for September!

Coach you are correct about the concern for fans over Brian Branches injuries from his rookie season. One reason I believe that GM Holmes went after and signed CB Amik Robertson is to take over playing the nickel/slot with possible rotation with the rookie Rakestraw. Also if SS Malinfonwu starts camp, preseason and the first four games before the scheduled Bye healthy ...it will NOT surprise me if the Lions hold Branch out and do this for his long term health as a player. Thus given the increased talent level in the Lions Defensive Backfield and injuries to both Branch and Joseph we may see SS IMU and a FS like veteran Brandon Joseph in place of Kerby (easy to mix up two players same surname) or even Moseley converted to FS ...we will see! Otherwise for the short term, if not the long term Branch's time in Nickel may be done; barring injuries to teammates!!! #GoLions #OnePride #GoGoff #DanTheManCampbell
