Wilier Triestina Jena Gravel Bike Review - Italian Style - "Free to Choose"
Спорт
"Jena is a new carbon gravel bike, designed to give you more freedom of choice when you go out for a ride. Jena was designed to satisfy any of your needs, whether it is performance on dirt roads and single track, or adventure, exploration, and bikepacking." - Wilier Triestina
JOM of the Gravel Cyclist crew has been riding the Wilier Triestina Jena Gravel bike for the past several weeks. The bike has appeared at two Florida-based events, the 2019 Tour of the Quilt Country and the Doc Hollywood Invitational, along with many training miles on his local, and not so local gravel roads.
Featuring modern equipment such as Shimano's Ultegra Di2 electronic shifting system, tapered carbon fork, hydraulic disc brakes and thru-axles for 12mm x 100mm front and 142 x 12mm rear, the Wilier Triestina Jena has a solid build kit.
How did JOM like the Wilier Triestina Jena? How about riding it with 650b or 700c wheels? JOM covers these topics and more in the review video.

Wilier Triestina congrats is a beauty!!!
Cool bike for sure! How many years will road gears be spec’d on gravel/bike packing/touring bikes.
Thank you JOM for the review. i have just recently discovered your channel as i was searching for reviews on gravel bikes. (Subscribed of course!!!) Excellent i must say. Really enjoyed them all. Question :-) I'm not sure if you highlighted the comfort level of this bike. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Most of the times gravel bike frames compliancy are kind of offset by the large volume tires. How did the Jena feel when you tried it with the 32c Panaracer GK tires comfort wise? Appreciate your feedback. This bike is on my shortlist along with the LOOK 765 GRS of which you reviewed as well. Thanks very much. Keep up the great reviews. Cheers.
This is a nice bike. It seems all the youtubers are getting one of these.
Nice bike and thanks for the review. I agree with your chain ring statement. Who needs a 50/11 combination on a gravel bike with 29er wheels? At a cadence of 90 rpm and with 40c tires your speed is almost 34 mph. I'm running 46t "big" chain ring and still think it is too big since I'm never on the 11t cog. I'm starting to believe that a 1x system with a 38t chain ring with the 11/34 cassette is the right gearing for my needs.

I have some interesting chainring pairings in for review from Wickwerks - 41/33 and 44/34. Both of these are available for both generations of Shimano's 11-speed cranksets.

I have both a 42T and a 38T chainring paired with an 10-42 cassette. What I notice with the 38T is that on flat pavement roads, or super smooth dirt roads i'm using the bottom of the cassette most of the time. I'm not strong, and i'm not the Strava KOM type. I'm running 43mm GK SKs. If you don't ride pavement at all the 38T might work great, but if your gravel bike is also sometimes your road bike it might be a bit too small IMO.

Ever enter a gravel race? You can always downshift but you can't upshift if the gears aren't there.
hey John! I have a stupid question:: I’m 5 foot 8 ... what frame size should be right for me with Jena? Thanks!!

FYI it is JOM, not John. There are too many variables about fitting to provide advice based on your height. I suggest you speak with a fitter or a knowledgeable bike shop about that. Sorry!
How tall you are? Did you like more an S frame? I ask because I noticed that you had quite out the saddle post, could you be using a frame size M instead? Thanks in advance

Luigi Albani I’d think these frames run kinda big. I don’t agree with the wilier size charts.
Excellent review. I like your wheel set, with the four spokes. How can you get Di2 on there? Can you just buy the frame ?

I don't believe Wilier is selling just the frame at this time, you are best off contacting them with that question.

Please, quit complaining. That is dependent on what part of the world you are from. It is very simple to visit the Wilier website or your local dealer for that information.
Does anybody know anything about its bikepacking capabilites?
