Thank you sir. I purchased the 700x 40 gravel M tires and could not be happier. They are faster by far on paved surface and handle great on all other terrains. I found your advice to be true and very accurate.

this review influenced my purchase and i concur that these may be one of the top 3 tires i ever ran on a rig but more so, they get it done on mixed surfaces. the speed grip is no joke on pavement but they hook up equally on gravel, grass, dirt, and even shallow mud.

Following your both reviews of Cinturatos I decided for M and I must say they're brilliant! I compare them to Schwalbe G-One Bite and I feel no rolling resistance increase on tarmac but in terrain they simply shine! Thanks!

Thank you for the review. I have the 700x45 M on the front and the 700X40 H on the rear. I ride a Moots Routt RSL. I've had the tire set up about a year. Tread is holding up incredibly and they handle awesome!! Here in Florida we have a plethora of terrain (chip seal, limestone, sand, gravel, etc.) My set up is the best I've ridden. I dont' have a road bike, so when I do the weekly fast ride in town, I pump these babies up to 55 PSI and I'm able to ride with the roadies with no problem. I absolutely love these tires. My only problem is that I could bot fit a 45 on the rear due to the width constraints. I wish Perelli would make a 42 in both the M and H. The performance is worth the price.

Thanks for the video. I bought a pair of these (700x45c) recently and I was also pleasently surprised by how good they are, especially compared to the 38mm Giant tyres my Revolt Advanced came with and the Schwalbe I had on my mountainbike. Compared to the Pirelli’s the Giant gravel tires are really rubbish. Being used to a mountainbike and initially the Giants, the speed on the road, even on fast descends and hairpins is amazing. I haven’t been able to compare them directory to my road bike though.

Very detailed and professional review from a fellow Aussie, well done mate. This tyre seems to be extremely popular nowdays and everyone is praising its performance. I guess my kind of riding is more exploratory/fitness and not interested in speed but certainly I am interested in rolling resistance and puncture performance. I run 650bx2" Schwalbe Marathon Mondials and they are a tank. I certainly want to try the 650bx45 Cinturato M and would hope will have better rolling than the Mondials.

Video may be old but just went with these prior to a race which i was anticipating to be wet and over about 20% mtn bike trails. My 38mm pathfinder pros were nearing the end of their life and would have to change in the near future anyway. Loved them. Whilst i perceived them to be slightly slower i'm unsure thats now true after i set a new record on my commute to work. Bicycle Rolling resistance have now also tested the 38 pathfinders as SLIGHTLY slower than these 40mm Mixed tires. The perception is most likely just that, a noise induced and visual perception. So all up no drawbacks only more confidence when things get a little more gnarlier.

I remember going to full knobby on my dual sport motorcycle. Once I got used to the feel I could easily and confidently lean them over in turns to the edge of the tread. Just because they feel different doesn't mean the grip isn't there. Pirelli makes good rubber.

You should try Vittoria Terreno mix. I use 33mm for CX racing and everyday use and I bet that 38C must be perfect gravel tyre that doesn't cost too much. It definitely works well in mud and is very fast and stable on dry/hard surface. I also have to mention Schwalbe x-one bite (muddier version of x-one) , which is excellent in muddy race conditions and I also use it on rough trails. They always amaze me, how capable they are even just 33mm wide.

Oh yeah the Rambler is the last of, what I consider, the "Big 3" of long-time market leaders I haven't tested yet. The Ramblers, the Schwalbe G-One Allrounds, and the Panaracer GravelKing SKs were the really big hitters a couple of years ago before a ton of other options came out so I've wanted to give them a try for a while. Perhaps a little later in the year because I should have a new review build coming in that'll clear 700x50 which is what I've got my eye on for the Ramblers.

I’m replacing a set of Ramblers (about three rides old) with a set of these Cinturato M’s. I ride fairly rough terrain and the Rumblers are just too weak. Three punctures from three outings and the casing is deforming and bubbling in one spot which is giving me a good excuse to just toss them. Also, They have been on my bike for a few months and are still weeping sealant through the sidewalls. Don’t rate the Rambler at all! Haven’t mounted these yet but out of the packet, the Pirellis seem so much more well made.

Hi, great content! Have you ridden these on typical Aussie pea gravel? I have a gravel race coming up with a few really big, fast descents. The who course is pea gravel roads, 3000m climbing over 125km. Would you reccomend these tyres for these sort of conditions, or is there another you have found shines on pea gravel? Thanks

  • @JustRideAdelaide

    @JustRideAdelaide

    3 жыл бұрын

Yo Gary! I've ridden these on some segments of pea gravel. I would say they suck way less than basically every other gravel tyre on that type of surface! I'd always hesitate to say anything is "good" in those conditions because I think it's one of the most challenging for any tyre. Among gravel tyres, these are good though, and far better than most of the lighter treaded tyres out there. I'd recommend getting 45mm if you can fit them. THe other tyres I'd recommend are more MTB style like Vittoria Mezcals. I'm testing some 27.5"x2.1" and they're wicked fun! The sheer width of them makes them really good on slippery gravel.

I took a gamble with some Schwalbe Smart Sam 700 x 35c as my non-road riding is skewed to hardtail MtB. Very similar tread pattern to your review, but only AUD $35 each! I've used them to claw my way up wet clay / dirt (20+%). There's enough traction on almost any other surface to corner without worry and lift the rear when braking. They roll well on sealed surfaces, but obviously not like 28mm slicks. Functional, wallet friendly. Not TLR.

There's plenty of gravel tyres that aren't hookless rim compatible currently. They're getting more common over time but you don't have the world of choice. You also have to check the rim makers for lists of compatible tyres on a case-by-case basis.

Lots of grip and keep the air in. I think this is the main requirements. Fast? I was able to tear a hole in the matrix and leave a vapour trail right across three suburbs once with a bike equipped with these tires. So I guess that means they are Ok on hard surfaces too. As for the mud clearing capability this also works well at dispersing cow manure far and wide, should you collide with a fresh patch. Its all win with these tires.

My current thoughts are their Australian RRP makes me sad! I've tested a couple of sets of their road tyres so I 'd love to have a crack on the gravel tyres at some point.

Hey Justin! I know that Altitude Cycling and Fitness on Magill Road stocks them. That damn kicker! I'd still say I don't make it every time on these tyres, it kinda depends if I wander into a patch of slush, but for sure they make it easier. Some of the other tyres I've tested spin out much lower down.
