It wouldn't be possible, but if RTE teamed up with TG4 and selected a rock song in irish it would kick ass. Something akin to inhaler even in irish. We need them to rent out thr rds or 3arean etc though and put on a big show for the selection with more options. The Late Late Show is the worst national final in Europe and horrifically embarrassing. It would be like letting Loose Women or This Morning host it in the UK. It's a bunch of old people and country folk tuning in to that show weekly. To go from discussing politics and cancer to eurovision in one week is a bit odd to say the least

One of the challenges with performing in a late show setting is that the staging isn't up to the level of really showing off what the acts can look like at Eurovision. If Ireland wants to increase their chances at making Top 10, Top 5, or win, they really need to invest in staging at the national level too. Irish viewers watching the national selection should be able to get super impassioned by their acts and the low-budget staging just doesn't truly allow for that. Think about if "Eaea" had to perform on this same stage. Would it have had the same impact as it did performing in Benidorm? I doubt it.

Live is key here, this was so much better than the studio version, and the song has excellent stagging potential to turn into something very refined. There is an Irish flavor, and that can lift it above the direct competitors (for bottom 5). Who knows, top 5 in their semi is actually possible.

I think this song is fine, I like the energy and I suppose the message is there, but this is a twin of any song that One Direction would have released ten years ago. If there's enough energy from the crowd and depending on the songs of other countries, there is a chance that this will slip through. On the other hand, I am just really tired of describing our entries as borderline, I loved 'That's Rich' last year, but no matter what we do, we always seem to lean away from the top ten in the semi-final. Though I think the overall quality of the songs for the selection this year was ok, the National Final itself was painful to watch at times, especially with the presenters of the voting results misnaming the songs etc and the fact that the artists were given nothing at all to work with when it comes to staging, but no surprises there., I enjoyed Connolly's song and thought it was the most current of the choices offered, but I do wish that she had sung in Irish, seeing as she's from Leitir Mealláin. At this stage, it seems that TG4 have the right idea with JESC and I do wish that RTÉ would give them a chance to select the entry sometime. Better to be a non-qualifier while showing off your nation's language and culture, than to be a non-qualifier with a song that could have been performed by any country in Europe. Just my thoughts! :)

This song isn't bad at all, but it isn't good either. It's so middle of the road, and this type of song doesn't do very well at Eurovision because it's so generic. It reminds me of Joe & Jake or Nicky Byrne from a few years ago, and neither did well in the competition. I just feel that the whole selection process in Ireland is so behind the times. The popularity of Eurovision is so downplayed by RTE that they've ended up holding the selection process on a redundant show which is the worst platform possible. The majority of the acts were so in the stage of infancy in their careers that their performances were very 'school entertainment show'. Like they'd practiced just a few times in their bedrooms before they went on stage. Ireland don't seem to have their heart in Eurovision anymore. I genuinely thought they would be inspired by the UK's success last year.

If Connolly comes back next year with having played a number of gigs and with a new song that is fully ready, she will go very close in the contest next year. If only she could combine something similar to Blanch’’s ‘City Lights’ and ‘Eimear Quinn’s ‘winning song ‘The Voice’, that would be winning material. If Loreen did it, why can’t she?

This may indeed have a chance depending on how this semi shapes out to be... that basically says it: in itself, this song is just not strong enough. No matter how good the band is (and they look pretty confident and competent on stage), the song is just a letdown for me. I was hoping that they might bring the vibe that Slovenia's bringing, but instead we get a generic pop/rock anthem that's been totally overdone and is as dull as dishwater.
