We miss his dry humor terribly. What a grand personality he was. RIP mate.
A genuine one off. Life duller without him. I learnt more from him than any other cook

"The old dragon peering over my shoulder" Good old Keith, man
As a frenchman, I do admire the english patience and politeness! Awesome video!
The wonderful Keith Floyd, with his incomparable wit and amiable mockery. The best cookery excerpt I've seen for ages. They've just shown this on Saturday Kitchen, and I'm so glad to find it here on YT. And Madame Moulin is magnificent - that rather conceited self-assurance that I wish I, and other English women, possessed. We've lost all confidence in our cooking abilities, which is a shame.
Love watching life in the 80s.
"with the old dragon peering over my shoulder".....(I almost fell off the chair laughing)
He defended his style because it wasn't the peasant way. What a lad. haha
True cooking shows like these do not exist anymore.
Still miss him. Inspired me in so many ways. Especially for travel.
I never saw this guy growing up in the USA. He is a lot of fun and now I can't wait to watch more of his shows.

Leftbanker We did, at least in some cities in the US, get to some Floyd shows in the 80s. A public television on Long Island broadcast them. That was my exposure to this charming and yet unpretentious man.

She was not backing down lol HER kitchen! I loved it
Keith was pissed off with that woman so he's gone and subtly called her a peasant 😂😂😂 too good
2 strong personalities in 1 small kitchen
"That is, if I may say so, a peasant way of cooking an omelet." Savage cheek.

He actually explained the peasant rationale which was perfectly valid and also generous to the host.

I love how in 5:19 you see the out of focus slapdash presentation of the two omelettes like they're about to go in the bin... no garnish no chives, no cleaning of the plates or its surroundings

even with the shitty 1980's cameras you can see the eggs are of SUPREME quality [orange not yellow]

This is the first time I have seen Keith Floyd. What a great little recipe and an even better bit of storytelling on his part. I can't wait to see more of his stuff. Why did he never appear on American TV?
"Slight glass of wine"

The Galloping Gourmet in this part of the world was Graham Kerr .[NZ].. who was also a flamboyant cook...During his 1960s heyday, which began with a show in New Zealand before he landed in the US, Kerr was known for injecting extra fat into already well-marbled roasts and offering vegetables only as a garnish. www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/88504011/graham-kerr-tvs-kiwi-galloping-gourmet-now-moves-at-a-slower-pace
Inspirational. I watched every program in the 80s and have most of his books. I still go to his recipes for confirmation and assurance. BTW - I think I've been in that French kitchen...

what fantastic and sumptuous cooking vid. selection you have BBC. keep the class and taste!
Thank God for Floyd. Raise your glass! (..and I prefer his method, eggs fresh and fluffy as you like, plenty of seasoning!)
legend! R.I.P
Surprised to see a French person overcook an omelette like that. I thought our Gallic chums invented the dish, and insisted on a wet centre, in recognition of 'carry over cooking'. A good omelette is a delicate thing, in taste and texture. She created a rubbery disk of tough egg yolk and albumen. A perfect frisbee for the dog, but don't eat it. However Keith was ever the gentleman, and had no compulsion to point out the obvious - his omelette was clearly by far the best!
The Best of them all. Very good and human.
Just ran across this guy, great food prepared by a great chef with great Wit!!! Shame he’s not around anymore.
Keith was the James Hunt of TV chefs.
A slight glass of wine.... legend
I have been looking for Kith Floyd omelets this is the only video I could find.
If they brought back that BBC I might start paying a licence fee again.
So so good
Very good. Floyd cooks the real deal and the farmers wife is priceless. How do you make those cepes?
She's a tough madame!
Love already. Flloyd xxx
My favourite celebrity chef!
I hate runny eggs. I would have preferred the "Old Dragon's" version of omelettes. She actually looks about the same age as he was, and I thought she had a friendly smile. I hope she never found out what he said about her. This was one of the few Floyd shows broadcast on PBS in the U.S. More's the pity he's gone now, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she's still around standing over her grandchildren's shoulders and teaching them how to cook. Too bad he smoked and drank so much. The mid 1980s really wasn't so long ago.
A slight glass of wine 😂😂😂
Lovely man.

If anyone asked my who is your favourite chef always Keith Floyd and I'm only 27
