Great to hear that I don't have to remove stems, cut out bad spots, trim blossom ends, and cut in half! Saves a lot of work. thank you

Thank you so much ! It’s so nice of you to share your knowledge on the leaves too ! I think these tips should be handed down but alas the younger generation don’t seem bothered. I live in the UK and it’s so refreshing to hear an English accent on utube instead of an American. As they also use different measures.

Great to hear your leaf lesson. I have an apple tree and I now know it isn't crab. Fine hairs appear on the stem of the leaves. Also love your decor fabulous.

My Nanna used to make crab apple jelly, back in the day when we didn't mind so much about the sugar 😉 Thank you for the happy memory!

Very nice presentation. Yes; a small batch indeed, but it shows the process that is needed regardless of batch size. I'm watching this today as I just picked a couple bushels of apples from my Whitney crab and am looking on pointers for making jelly. FYI, most crab apples already contain pectin naturally. Pectin can be extracted from the skins of crab apples.

One of the things I remember about my grandfather's recipe was adding lemon juice when halfway through cooking as he was very particular about the smell being to satisfaction. Has the recipe changed in 28 years?

Nice to learn about the verjuice! Been wanting a use of crab apples without adding lots of sugar. Has anyone got any more recipes for using crab apples that doesn't involve using lots of sugar?
