My favorite version of this song but none of their songs are on spotify anymore which is sad. Took me a minute to find this version since couldnt see it on spotify.

2020, the year of wildfires, globalwarming, virus outbreaks and wars on our front doorsteps... This song hits too hard. I hope to god the professionals and everyone else are wrong and we are safe but i doubt thats the case. Stay safe everyone this years only gonna get worse🙏

@Leftism Central It's sad but yeah, that'll always be present in the world, people have opinions and thats not going to change. I often find myself think that a dystopia is the answer to a perfect utopia. Everyone united in thaught and ideas, the only difference between them is that in a dystopia they're aware of the lack of differences between people, whereas in a utopia they're unconscious of the robotic like state. Honestly this world sucks, thats never gonna change, not unless we put our differences aside- which is never going to happen.

Cohen's style isn't for everyone, and his version of this song was produced before his music took on the sort of... playfully resigned, haunting tone that his final albums had, so his style hadn't even reached its peak yet. This cover is more approachable, because it's got a clear mood, and a reasonable one: It's pissed. This is a song about the world being rotten, and bad things happening just because one person benefits from them in trivial ways that can't compare to how other people suffer from them; being pissed makes sense, and Wildfire delivers on that.
