Wild camping from Canada to Mexico | Archive 1

I meant to say sunrise. Well it's been nearly 2 weeks since I've started and there are some really good days and some days when I crawl into bed tired wondering what I've done. I always said it would take a few weeks to a month to get used to things but as it gets warmer and I get more familiar with how to get around the truck, things get easier.
There's a few things I'm still ironing out with the old Land Cruiser but the US was meant to be the shakedown after the shakedown and all things considered, it's going well.

    Great shots but if I can make a suggestion, maybe more at the moment video than after the fact voice over. Like you did with the shower. That was great.

    Hello fellow Victorian! We have just discovered your channel, and have subscribed to follow you on your fabulous journey. We own a Helio shower and suggest you boil 1/2 of the water and add it to the bag, because it takes a very long time to warm up on its own.

    Thanks for the video. I will make a suggestion that you probably don't need to use filtered water to take your shower in. This will save the amount of water you have to filter on the journey. Looking forward to your videos as your journey unfolds.

    Good luck bud. I can’t wait to get my truck done and get out there. You found some amazing spots. Were they all on national forest or you’re just chancing getting told to leave. It’s all new to me and I have so much to learn.

    On your way, and your style of videography is working pretty great especially for you having to do it all by yourself👍I was curious, how timely are your vids in comparison to your travels if your willing to share. Are you posting semi real time or have you already completed the trip and your now uploading vids. Just wondering for comment context. Would seem kinda weird to watch your adventure and make a comment on one of your vids as if you've recently experienced something if you've been finished with your trip for like a year or something. I kinda made a real time assumption with my comment on your first vid and wouldn't want to have future comments be off if that's not the case.

    Hey thank you for the support, no the trip is ongoing and usually the videos are ending with my last currently location. So from the beginning of the video there is a time gap of X long depending how far between videos it is. The last episode was a huge gap because I was stopped in mazatlan for weeks and didn't record much.

    Great rig!! I am planning on buying my 92 Land Cruiser here in Texas. It is surprising how these vehicles are even more capable than Jeeps, Broncos, and newer Tacomas. Can you go over your setup and year of your rig?

    I would suggest you choose a 1995 or later. You get the better engine, interior and it's OBDII compliant.

    I also wanted to ask if you are familiar with and area of central America that you will not be able to cross with a vehicle called the Darien gap? If you don't know it yet, it would be a challenging surprise.

  • @goaloneTV

    @goaloneTV

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes! shipping across the darien gap is fairly established but driving a right hand drive vehicle through Costa Rica, where they are completely banned, is not! That will be the real challenge, whether it's possible to flatbed it across Costa Rica or go back through Nicaragua up to Guatemala, where the option to ship directly to Columbia is available, skipping Panama.

  • @conchscooter
    @conchscooter Жыл бұрын

    I trust you have ideas about how to circumvent Costa Rica which does not allow RHD vehicles?

  • @goaloneTV

    @goaloneTV

    Жыл бұрын

    Yeah this is an ongoing discussion with other travellers, there is really very little information on how to get around. However, I will try and see if flatbedding it border to border is possible and if not there are two brokers (father son combo) out of Guatemala who ship direct to Colombia. So I would go back up through Nicaragua and ship it out of Guatemala, skipping panama.
