Wii component cable ($7) + component to HDMI box ($12), change wii to 480p, change both wii AND tv to 4:3 and the picture is much more vibrant and smooth. Much better than a direct to HDMI like this.

Exactly this is the OPTIMAL solution, all 'HDMI adapters' for the WII are terrible. the only good solution is the hardware mod, which is quite difficult...

From different people reviewing this product online i think that there are some adapters that have some varying level of defects, a few might work perfectly and others no, i bought one and it works well except there are slight diagonal lines across the image every now and then. It doesnt really ruin the image much for mines tho unless youre really ocd

I bought a Neoteck scart to HDMI adapter and it works as in the picture quality is great, but the sluggishness is terrible. I am having trouble with the balance board and some games i.e. table tennis. Figures don't move fast enough. I'm wondering now if I should buy a special Wii adapter like in the video or something similar.

a hdmi mod will give you true 1080p ouitpute. but its hard and time taking. also I herd the new chip will do 4k since it replaces the video processpor of the system. also the chip mod is a pure digital connection not analog.

Thanks for the tip Dennis, luckily my tv is old enough and is even called a HD ready tv. So it has all the old skool connection ports like rca, scart, coax and has 1 hdmi port!!! No troubles for me yet.

Just got mine in the mail today. With my TCL Roku TV I had to change my physical TV settings to "stretch" the image to have it fill my screen. Was certainly confusing. And my audio seems a bit off.

I bought one from eBay just recently. But for some strange reason, the NES/SNES Virtual Console titles boot up but TV (mine is a late 2000s Panasonic Viera!) only shows a black screen when running but DOES show the Wii 'Main Menu' interface. Always think carefully before you purchase. Not all TVs are supported.

I'm going to get it to make my wii into a portable gaming device with a hdmi output for external gaming

the converter has a jack connection, if I don't connect anything to it, the audio will still be heard on the TV or I will necessarily need an external speaker ??(my new TV is so "smart" that it doesn't have a jack connection)

I found this device handy because I could then run my Wii into the HDMI input port on my Xbox One and have it come out as 1080P instead of 480p....

How do I change the tv to TV/HD TV 480p in the Nintendo Wii settings and How come my Wii is corrupted if my sensor bar is on and I put the Wii Adapter into my Wii and put the HDMI cord in the TV? I have a Sharp tv with Roku.

I bought one of these and it doesnt work, my neighbor has a WII also and it worked on hers, my WII model is RVL-001 hers is a RVL-101. So I dont think this works on the 001 models, just the 101 models

i dont think the Wii2HDMI is 'FULLHD 1080p' how is typed on it its just 480p... i got little scammed but it was pretty clear that its a scam (or like false product) it just make more vibrant color

Why you can't change the screen setting on Wii then? When you can finally change the screen setting on Wii then change it from standard to EDTV 480p setting and off you go,the HDMI option won't come up since Wii don't support HDMI but it does support component video and that Wii2HDMI I suspect just basically converts the component signal to HDMI that's all.

@@barebarekun161 will a scart to HDMI adapter work as well as the Wii adapter. I bought one and everything is sluggish i.e. When playing table tennis I can't make the character move quickly and when I use the balance board it's not as fast as it should be. Picture quality is fine. Should I buy a special Wii adapter?

I have it. It's a chonk and my TV doesn't like it sometimes. It's works, though. And it's relatively cheap.

I just bought an HD Component AV Video Cable from eBay. I'm gonna have the same results with this that's in your video?

Yes, the Wii2Hdmi simply transfers the Component signal from analogic to digitale

Yes, much image dithering/banding and a darker screen. My wii from eBay shipped with one of these rather than the composite or component cable and I am happy for now so I can use my Wii, but the damn thing shorts out all the time. Something is loose inside it and I keep losing screen signal.

This doesn't work too well on my AOC gaming monitor, there is a small black rectangle surounding it as if the game is not filling the whole screen (even after checking monitor and wii settings), and there is some noticable "lines", dunno how to describe it

look at the back if your WII, Ill almost bet its Model is RVL-001 and not RVL-101.. I have this converter and it doesnt work on my 001, but it works on my neighbors 101 model

My one of these converters came a few days ago but so far Im getting a blank screen. I hope this video will help me figure it out.

Hey, I REALLY need your help. Whenever i use this with my monitor and my Wii, I also have a PC and when i switch back to my PC, theres some sort of image retention, im really scared this could do something permanent to my monitor, could it be that the wii2hdmi im using is causing it?

How is the input lag with this device?

Ik hoopte zo dat dit zou werken, maar helaas werkt het niet. Weet iemand of dat ligt aan mijn model RVL-001? Of is er nog iets anders dat ik kan proberen om het werkend te krijgen?

Er schijnt ook iet dergelijks voor de ps2 te bestaan. Wat dit ding doet is volgens mij het component signaal digitaliseren. Het schijnt dat de wii ook rgb scart ondersteuning heeft. Wat ik me afvraag is of deze converter de resolutie onveranderd doorgeeft of dat hij deze upscaled.

Ik weet het niet zeker maar ik ga er vanuit dat de converter de resolutie onveranderd doorgeeft. In sommige gevallen zal de TV zelf het beeld upgraden.De ps2 converters bestaan ook inderdaad maar hier word minder gebruik van gemaakt aangezien de eerste ps3 consoles ook ps2 games afspeelden.

your WII model is probably RVL-001 and not RVL-101, I dont think these work on the 001 models, I have a 001 and it doesnt work on mine but it works on my neighbors 101

Well.. my kid will be 5 this year and it's time for him to experience the Wii and I'm buying him his own TV and wall mount.. so much going on it's a little stressful. But.. this really helped me determine my next step and that is buy one of these lol

i get one from aliexpress... and it sucks... in my case... i see horrible vertical lines all over the screen. it happens in two tv i tried... a fullhd 1080p an other 4k.... my new tv doesn't have any components or rca ports... so... im fucked up with all my classic consoles :'( help... the Wii2HDMI wasn't the solution...

Same here, I tried 3 different hdmi cables, the first one had those little dots that appear when there is no signal, the second messed up my game controller's directional inputs, the third hdmi was fine but had those horizontal or vertical bars skimming across the TV, so I just went back to using the original Wii component cables

Just hook it up with component while you can. really the best way to hook up your Wii. If your TV doesn't have component you are always better of with other component to hdmi converters and high brand hdd recorders (which you can get cheap at goodwills) this is neat and tiny but doesn't do the Wii justice...waarom schrijf ik dit in het engels :)

@@GermanGarageGames nio worries its 50 inch version great for emulation arcade games and will the colours pop. I use the HD plug in works like a charm. Higjly recomend picking up a plasam, cheap and optioned and large. I think plasma may be the new CRT

You need a wii component cable and a tv with those 5 ports for your component cable
