Sunshine Airport has to be one of the best tracks I've ever seen, this includes graphics, music, and gameplay

It's has almost been 10 years since Mario Kart 8 first launched on the Wii U. It started with 32 tracks, and now we have triple the amount of tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!

When Super Mario Kart for SNES went out, nobody thought it would become someday like ths.

Look at the details! The tracks look really cool too, and you do hold the item you get on your hand. This game is gonna be the best Mario Kart ever!

Rosalina and motorcycles. Getting it!

Happy 10th anniversary Mario Kart 8! It's hard to believe, nobody was really expecting this back when the game first released, but MK8 managed to be the last numbered mainline Mario Kart for over 10 years now. It has been a really long road, first the great base Wii U game, then its great Updates (including 200cc) and its DLC, then the Switch game which is the definitive version to play this game, including all prior content with many QoL enhancements and further additions, and even later the MK8DX Booster Course Pass which added so many new tracks and characters, and it was also great even if the graphical quality was not on par with the base game. Though every one of these updates, DLC packs, and other additions meant that MK9 would not be coming any time soon and that was somewhat annoying, still glad them all happened, they extended MK8's life and made it an even better game. Now that it and MKT are done, looking forward to MK9, after 10 years of MK8 it's about time for it, and it's its time to shine. After all this time, I'm sure Nintendo will be able to deliver an even better successor in the future!

Caity Castro Daisy is portrayed as a mere colour swap in every multiplayer game I've seen her in. It seems to me that it would be difficult to make her fit in without making her more unique as a character. I thought perhaps of having her ditch the princess look and give her sort of an edgier style, but I doubt Sakurai has such authority over the characters that he can portray them to an extent that is different from what Nintendo overall has intended for them-even if it would make her more unique. That doesn't seem altogether unreasonable when you consider that Waluigi is unique from Wario, so it seems wrong that Daisy isn't more unique from Peach. Nonetheless I feel that SSB could really do better without characters that are too similar to each other.

They could make Daisy a little less Peach like appearance wise. I would enjoy that, since she is portrayed as a tomboy is about 99% of the games, and she's Peach's best friend. I totally agree on a more edgy look for Daisy. She's one of my favorite characters-- I seriously love her arrogance and attitude.

This game looks good but I don't see how you can deny specs, optimisation can only go so far. Also this isn't photo realistic, which isn't a bad thing but not photo realistic games always look pretty good. Wii U is weaker than the competition, the developers confirm it themself, look at the games which are available for both Wii U and Ps4/X1. That doesn't mean it's a bad system, if they released some Zelda game and a cheaper version of the console without the tablet controller I would be all up for it.

To say specs don't matter is simply ignorant, specs are the basics of a console, that's why ps2 has better looking games than ps1. This game does look good, but then again, ps3/360 games look equally good and many better.

stretch90 Titanfall, Infamous Second Son. While I will agree specs arent everything if you can make a game entertaining, the fact still remains that good specs allow for more to done with a game. If the graphics can be put to a higher resolution and can run at a constant fps then the game naturally looks and feels better while playing. The Wii U is definitely not last gen and has some great titles, it just took too long for any good titles too appear. The launch titles were unbearably bland. This mario Kart looks great, but I guarantee if the Wii U had the specs of the PS4/Xbox One, it would look even better.

Mario kart never gets old! Or let's just say Mario games will never be old

lol. I hope you are kidding. Nintendo has great games which focus on gameplay not graphics (because their systems do not have the best performance). I am not saying I don't think this is a good game, I'm just saying these graphics are not great. They do a good job with the restrictions they have performance wise though

So did anyone else notice that if you pause at about 0:08 you can read the Flight Display Board? From the sound of it they're very likely the names of courses. Maybe even some of the ones in this video? *Cloud Top Cruise* 1:18 *Thowmp Ruins* 0:50 *Dolphin Shoals* *Sweet Sweet Canyon* 0:35 I highly doubt that Sand Stage was Dolphin Shoals. Also at 0:07 there's a blink and you'll miss it shot of a poster of a Toad in Dry Dry Desert that says; "Mysterious Sands: Dry Dry Desert"

I cannot possibly wait until May for this game!! If this is ANYTHING like Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart Wii in quality than we automatically have our best racer of 2014 bar NONE!

WiiU was an amazing console granted I didn’t get it until very later like 4, 5ish years later but it was all worth the wait and time because it is such ana amazing console and so much fun to play with especially this one I remember trying to unlock Rosalina (because she my favorite character) with my sister, brother and best friend and oh my god! So many races we had to do to unlock her lol till this day i still use my wiiu and proudly!

The reason why Mario collects coins in all his other games is just so he's able to afford all these fancy vehicles in Mario Kart.

Shankovich And in the meantime I'll replay Metroid Prime Trilogy on my Wii U :D. the problem 2013 with Wii U was that there were barely any games that I really wanted, but in 2014 it's the opposite: I want almost every nintendo game, but also third party titles (Watch dogs preordered since march 28th for example). My wallet will really hate me in 2014, but at least I was able to buy a really nice 42" TV this year, so I'm good to go!

That's actually quite hard to believe. XBOX ONE is $500, while PS4 is $400, and WII U is $250. Just the consoles are 1,150. And a PC is quite expensive. Anyway, I picked up my Xbox for £450 with a game which equals $750. :)

Wow, I remember the first time I found out about the legend Mario. I showed up to class one day in kindergarten for show and tell and noticed one of my friends carrying a man in red with blue overalls and a moustache. I asked him, "hey what's that", and he said, "Mario". Those words led to the video game character that shaped my video gaming life. Even though nobody will see this comment, thank you for making this amazing character, because he is the reason I am what I am. Mario, is, a legend

This game existing is one of the only reasons Wii U is worthwhile. Now even better on the switch

+Mitchell Ortiz Sonic all star racing is a worthy successor to DKR. Its not the same roster but the core of boat, flying and racing is very well intact with that game. I still ove MK of course. Sonic racing transformed just offers healthy competition an mixup so that way neither racing games can ever get boring.

***** It's my favorite as well I love all the characters and tracks and the gameplay is fluid and natural. Not to mention NiGHTS is playable which is the actual reason I first bought the game.

I AM DYING TO GET THIS GAME. Especially when it comes out at the last day of school.

I hope Nintendo releases a version of Mario Kart 8 with a Wii U gamepad. If your listening Nintendo this would make A LOT of people very happy. But even more than that find a way to really utilize the two gamepads. Maybe have local co-op off screen on the two gamepads or something. Thumbs up if you agree!

Unnecessary. Just get the pro controller and stop whining! It would cost them much more money than you think! Plus at this stage, they are definitely not.

@ 1:27 i never heard rosa make that laugh ever in mk8 even on deluxe but now i heard it in sonic and mario olympics when she was doing the surfing event
