So I bought the F150 5.0 coyote. I ended up with a used white extended cab 4x4. It’s got the toolbox and my company magnets on the doors. I already installed the Borla exhaust. I have the supercharger kit and just waiting for a few warm days when my dads shop is not so busy to install and tune it. I’m not going to go too crazy with it since I still need to drive it several days a week for estimates , pick up the kids from school etc. I’m thinking maybe 550hp-575hp?

That is a beautiful truck and it sounds awesome and fast as hell! Hope all is well and all the best! I have a super duty magnetic gray blacked out sport package and its awesome! I love it! It's a19 lariat with a 6.2 but it's a rocket. I think it's got the soul of a 6.7 lol because its night and day from my 15 with same motor. Restoring an 86 f150 with 5.0 this year and its gonna be sweet!

Very nice! The 6.2 engines are awesome!!!. We had a Gen 4 whipple on our company truck 2017 f250. I’m switching the supercharger over to our 2020 6.2 single cab 4x4.

That’s awesome that your wife will drive it! I’m curious what’s the mpg with the whipple if you drive it somewhat normal? I’m going to install mine around spring break. And has there been any issues with the transmission?

Mpg is almost the same with normal driving, but who wants to drive it normal lol. No issues with a whipple tune. Transmission can hold that power no problem.

@@843cuh9 never too late. Just do it! Check everything before install. Make sure there’s no codes, and compression is good.

I have the 3.5 turbos but I need to upgrade to this fast. Those little blow dryers have nothing on this even with it chipped

No need for any upgrades with this set up. If you choose to turn it up tho I would think about other upgrades. I’ve heard people push up to 1,000hp on a stock trans.

Need to get ahold of your tuner and have your transmission tuned and your drive by wire pedal fixed... your trans seems very mushy and slow on shifting between gears. Trust me it will be a whole other truck after those upgrades. I have an 18 Lariat with the Odin supercharger making 800hp and it’s a whole lotta fun smoking all 4 wheels.

Builttough tune comes directly from ford and whipple. We are a whipple dealer here in NC. Didn’t have it in sport mode in this video ether. It’s a safe production street tune. I know we can crank it up, but this was a customers truck and that is how they ordered it. They are lots of fun tho aren’t they 👍😎

This was Gen 4. 2.9L stage 2 I believe. Not sure on times. Didn’t take this one to the track

@@L8R-HP could you put a pedal commander on with the supercharger or does your tune do something similar with how quickly your electric throttle body opens? I put the pedal commander on my 5.0 F150 and it made it run like a totally different truck!! It’s is really amazing how much of a difference it makes. I could only imagine having the instant response from the gas pedal backed up by all those additional ponies from the supercharger….talk about neck snapping acceleration!

@@chaslaspata5385 nice! I’m not sure about the pedal, but the tune for the Whipple set up improves the response and also transmission shifting. There is no lag, as soon as you touch the pedal it launches 🚀

Thank you! This was a customers/friends truck, his got around 20k miles on it now, no issues, as long as you stick with a whipple tune it’s very reliable and safe, especially on the F150.

Is that the stock exhaust with a 3" tail pipe? What would you say the largest diameter single exhaust to go with naturally aspirated versus exhaust with whipple

If you owned the truck since new and kept up with oil changes on time, I think you should be ok with adding a whipple. 👍 just do a compression check to make sure before install

@@L8R-HP Ive had it since 30k miles. Most of the miles since are highway miles from commuting. Might look into it. Not too far away from yall in Augusta GA. Having a hard time finding a reputable speed shop around here unless I go towards ATL.

So I just finished my install this weekend and took it for a test run. While I did feel some improvement it was a little underwhelming. I'm hoping whipple keeps their tune conservative. I was expecting it to be a little more violent and unstable. Do you think I will see noticeable gains with a custom dyno tune? Like noticeable enough to scare me and make me back out of the throttle

@@L8R-HP a brake booster vacuum and fuel temp sensor code. I do feel a difference and it is faster but just not quite as expected. I guess I was expecting to reap the whirlwind. I guess I was hoping more more from 2,000 to 4,000 rpm but it feels the same as stock until it gets about 4000 and up, then it pulls hard.

Im looking at either getting a roush with 610 lb ft torque or whipple stage 1 with 685 lb ft. I want to be able to have as much power I can put to the road in 4 hi without spinning too much. Really I enjoy going from 0 to 60 quickly without flooring it. Which blower would you recommend for me? Basically if too much torque just causes it to spin more I would rather go with roush instead. Dont really want to mount slicks to run at the track either

@@briancraft777 it spins some, but it’s not bad. I think a different tire set up would help. The f150 and whipple make the best combo in my opinion, I enjoy driving the f150 more than my GT350. I guess it’s just insane for a truck to be that fast lol

@@L8R-HP is it possible to be manipulated to work such as the intercooler and if you use the custom air raid intake inlet? I can see the intercooler is shaped different but are the pulleys the same in both engines?

@@briancraft777 pulleys should be the same, but heat exchanger and all the lines are different, I’m sure you could make it work tho, as long as you getting a good deal, worst case just buy a few parts here and there to make it work.

Can’t speak on his build but from personal experience, I’d recommend upgrading the oil pump gear and timing sprockets.

@@Slickrickthethird wouldn’t hurt if you want to throw extra money at it, but it’s not a must in the F150s as they don’t rev as high as mustangs. I did upgrade the OPG in my Shelby tho.
