Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hot weather takes it toll on all plants. And when you can't water as needed you loose your plants. Here Leon is going to show how to wick plants in baskets and hanging plants. For more information call or text Leon at 580-564-5909. Sherrie at the Garden Center is 580-564-2166. Thanks for watching and happy gardening.

I put my baskets in a tub of water every morning until its saturated. I've heard putting a diaper on the bottom of a hanging basket works good too. Thanks Mr. Leon!

Thanks! My strawberry hanging basket will love this ❤️🍓 Also, that person who backed out of the screen made me laugh. I don't like cameras so I can relate 😎💕

Thank you! Have you ever tried Special Kitty Litter (clay & fragrance free) to hold the moisture in the tubs or baskets?

Why don't they just make planners with a drainage hole a few inches up to allow for that extra water?

The compost often rots (pathogens, eg damping off disease) if it is too wet. So customers would complain. With established, big plants, like the orange one in this video, and in hot weather, it wouldn't be a problem probably, but people don't usually transplant (pot on) hanging baskets.

I don't know about small ones but I have some big planters that have a plastic tube that runs up about 4 inches and plugs on the bottom to let the water out once it gets over the tube. Works like a spillway. Had them for many years.

Not a hanging basket question for starters. My cukes, tomatoes and beans did amazing in wicking tubs but my sugar baby watermelons are all rind and hardly any flesh. Where did I go wrong?
