I am now in the 65+ AG and have picked up a number of ideas from yourself. This has allowed me to stay in the top 30-40% of all ages in triathlon races. My last 70.3 2 weeks ago I concentrated on a couple of your core swimming elements and got out at the 35th percentile including pros and all AGers (1250 racing). I felt very fresh and comfortable. I will continue to work on these techniques. Thks.

The thing I find absolutely the hardest is relaxing. When I relax I swim soooo much faster. Telling myself to relax my chest and breathing:shoulders whilst stretching out and keeping kind of taut is something I find incredibly difficult.

@@bbvc3695 you’re right it’s rubbish haha. It’s good in the right and weird on the left but I’m constantly working on it. It’s also just about ‘life tension’ and trying not to bring it to the pool. Wah.

I learnt a lot from this channel . From one cannot swim now I can swim 1k or more in freestyle & breaststroke. Now I can sprint too. I started swimming in February 2023. Not more than 1 & half year 😅😅

I have no rhythm on the dance floor, but my swimming is coming along. Swim 3 times per week and you will improve 💪🏼

Would like to enroll my 11 year old daughter who swims competitively for her school in Lagos Nigeria for an online technique improvement class. What do I need to do?

Interesting that the distance swimmer you interviewed recently indicated he didn’t increase the speed at the back end of the stroke. I thought at the time that comment may have surprised you?

I mostly swim on the oseane. Any tips when the water is choppy or you have a head wind.

One thing I keep seeing is spread fingers on entry for whoever the demonstration swimmer is. Is there any need to spread your fingers on entry? Or is it just like a personal habit?

Can anyone explain how am I supposed to have constant pressure (not gliding with arm in front for too long) while also being in a front quadrant? These two principles seem contradictory, at least for the way I'm swimming. If I try to start the next catch as soon as my arm is extended it's usually out of the front quadrant by the time the other arm gets there. Thank you!

Is there any advantage to not breathing bilaterally? I worked very hard to develop this habit, can swim fairly long distances per workout (2-3 miles pool swim) and feel guilty later in the swim when I transition to mostly breathing on one (the right) side.

maybe I can help. Practice swimming by breathing to face one side of the pool. So you will go up, breathing on the right, and then come down breathing on the left. (For life saving. I practice my side stroke, like this too) Do that for a few weeks, and then go back to breathing on odd numbers of strokes 3-5-7.
