"Muligan" - lol. I can't speak for every Cities Skylines KZreadr, but it's awesome how many of you don't view each other as competition but as a community. Month after month you keep turning this into something like the "Cities Skylines Cinematic Universe" with shared stories, vocabulary, and everything. 💜

Clearly, there is some bro-mance brewing between CPP and Biffa. Not sure if it was the 5B1C or Red Bull Challenge but as a regular viewer of this channel (and CPPs) I can say some of the influence is unmissable. Biffa has certainly taken a liking to Landscaping, respecting the Topography and now Mulligans besides using lingo 'eminent domain' in the red bull challenge Good going, hope to see the City Skylines community come together more often and improve overall game play!

You’ve got a ton of traffic pressure going through that town, primrose tea hill. You’ve got an unused connection right near the opera house at the end of carol highway. Might be worth helping out the town by connecting up that highway. Otherwise they’re going over the small bridge and choking the city to get to the new district. Love how much you fit into that small area and how nice it looks

He only has 1 road to get to that side of the area. To save the park, he will have to build a tunnel! Will see that built in his traffic video.

After watching the second rebuild, I can suggest to flip the Metro and train hub, so the metro enters from below. That way you won’t need to get the metro line over the train line. A much much cleaner design. If you could use the Metro Overhaul Mod this might be even cleaner. I haven’t really used with the new train and Metro content pack.

I would change the metro station by the opera house to be on the ground so it doesn't obstruct the views of the opera house's architecture. Just trying to imagine an elevated metro station butting right up against the Sydney opera house. Then you would have any issues when you need to take the train tracks over the metro line to go back to the main station.

Very used to mulligans from golf games on the Commodore 64. 😁 One of the new areas, the one encompassing the Opera House, could be called 'PAVAROTEA'S END'. It's at the end of the line, and its named in honour of one of our finest te(a)nors. As the other part's a long, narrow stretch along the front of the seaside, you could call it 'THE CHAMO MILE'.

Cool changes! :D For the whole street - rail - metro intersection right of the hub towards the opera I think it would have been better to keep the metro and street at ground level (the metro can simply slope down earlier), and have the rail pass over both of them, as it was already raised to pass over the highway. This way there's no need for that weird underground section of the street. Just an idea :-)

Love the changes! Makes so much more sense to be able to connect the 2 areas, though anyone wanting to come by car still has to go through Primrose first. Biffa, in regards to the metro station next to the opera and how it was raising the land on the key I have an idea (not an original one). I recently was watching City Planner Plays where he was dealing with something similar and his solution was to put reads down where the land broke the surface of the water. It allows you to cover the ugliness of the land and the freedom to move the station more. Alternatively you can put rocks down or rock decals.

Always good to watch a Biffa video after work! 40:00 -ish - gravel path lost connection to the back of the station after you moved/connected them at some point. And I honestly think the bus stop placements are overkill, way too close to each other. Plus, if you fix the back-station connection, the front and back bus stations are a bit redundant.

At least until the metro gets extended over the river in the coming years. 7:50 Well, how about adding one of the new piers there instead of just the wall to avoid that the land below is visible? A interesting side effect whould be that there is a nice promenade around the opera house.

I know I'm not the first to point this out, but don't forget that unused freeway interchange to the opera house/casino. As it is now, traffic goes thru multiple aroundabouts, winding narrow roads, the whole little town Primrose, over a narrow bridge, past a busy train station, and finally thru a residential area, to get to the theater and opera house district.

As it's a vast new entertainment/tourist development made out of an old docklands area which is trying to get lots of private investment you should call the new district OpportuniTEA Docks.

I know that it has no bearing on the game, and I’m really not knowledgeable on this, but I’m a mite worried about the noise pollution coming in from the metro interfering with the sound of the opera house. Maybe put it farther back and add some scenic paths? I dunno

I think that adding a roundabout onto the end of Mill Street by the Opera House and joining the unused highway exit ramps to it would help get more tourists to the new tourism districts

  • @Davefacestation

40:00 - Seems like it's worth checking if some of the services could be moved near the station since they don't mind the noise and it's nice and central to both areas. gives you a little more space for low density where the services were.

36:52 Biffa not sure if you wanted the High Rise ban on or off right here, but you left it so tall buildings will be built. As for names in the area well. Wharf Tea Lode (WTL)/What the Love. Warf is where a ship may be moored to load and unload. Lode typically used in relation to mining precious resources(gold) in a mountainous areas. or something along the lines of the Las Vegas Strip.

The unused highway connection should be hooked up under the metro toward the Opera House. At the moment, traffic coming off the highway has to go the other way towards the roundabout, then down alongside the highway, then all the way through Primrose, over the bridge, past the railway station to get into that area. Remove the weird oval thing at the highway exit like you did on the other side of the city near the industrial area and replace with a roundabout. Then hook those stranded roads up under the metro to the new Opera House area.

The highway was in a tunnel going through the mountain; then it's above ground, then promptly dives into another tunnel. Seems like if you'd just put the intermediate section in a tunnel also (i.e. one long tunnel), it would make a lot of sense AND open up more space for development. Assuming, of course, you never need an interchange on that end of this area! Also, where your metro and railroad cross... the metro immediately drops to ground level to the left, and the railroad is already elevated and has to dive to the ground under the metro. Seems like bringing the metro to the ground sooner would allow the railroad (already elevated) to continue over the top of it - as well as over the road - then drop gradually back to the ground.

@Biffa, always love the videos. They're great to watch while winding down and getting ready for bed after a long day. Am curious to know, what was the highest population you had reached in a legit city play through. My highest was 200k and change on a full vanilla build (no mods.) But now that I've added TM:PE and a few other QOL mods, I believe I can beat that number.

if someone already hasn't, there needs to be a railway/metro/monorail/road/other things mod where you can put something over another, and it will make logical sense, like having a above-ground tunnel as the underneath part, and then on top, the normal road/rails. would also be helpful for complex interchanges, with split traffic or industrial traffic integration

''Bifford Sound'' as a name for the opera area. New Sealand has a famous walking trail named Milford Sound. So this name consists of Biffa as in Bifford, and the Sound part since it's an opera.

The main problem I see with the Train-Metro Station is that the train side doesn't have bypass tracks. Considering how intercity trains work in this game, I try to avoid single-platform train stations whenever I can. The Metro-Monorail-Train hub would have been my choice, since it's a) more compact, b) provides two train platforms (so one can be used as a bypass), and c) gives you the option for (a) monorail line(s) to nearby areas. Plus, the metro being underground frees up the surface for development. The way you handled the situation with the opera house is decent, though I'd probably have chosen to not elevate the metro all the way to the pier - as others have said, it kinda ruins the view a bit. A ground-level metro station would fit better imho.

Enjoying the videos as always However you have a very convoluted train line going up and over the motor and then down and passing roads, from the vary beginning when you moved the opera house, you can see how close that trainline curve is, the maintaining of all those embankments and bridges would be huge, but you could from the curve either run it towards the metro line and then under it as you liked and did originally with line that you removed. or you could have it come under the metro and encircle a larger area by following the coast, both of which would free up the bridges and the train motorway junction. going under the metro line frees up space, going alone the cost would mean you could have a harbour

Hello Biffa. Thanks for the new and fantastic video. It may useful to add a busstop at the train-metro-hub, you set up just one in one direction. There is an unused highway-connection nearby the opera. It will be good for delivering goods for your commercial-buildings with leisure specialisation. The new residential-district may have the name Taeside Seaview.
